Muslim terror and lies about Israel

Christians killed by Muslims in Egypt, Iraq, and Nigeria

The blood of Christians is constantly being spilled by Muslims in Egypt, Iraq, and Nigeria
————————————————————————–
Islamic terrorists have massacred innocent Christians in the name of Allah in Egypt during New Year celebrations. Just like Islamists blew up several Christian churches in Nigeria the week before and murdered Christians in Iraq. In truth, the violence of 2011 will follow the same pattern towards non-Muslims which took place during the reign of Mohammed in the 7th century.
After all, Islam believes in the theories of Islamic jihad, dhimmitude, enslaving non-Muslims who are unwilling to become dhimmis, killing apostates, and violating all known concepts of religious freedom. At best, minorities can survive in Islamic based societies but because of institutional discrimination, which is based on the Koran, the Hadiths, and Islamic Sharia law, then these minorities become even more marginalized and their numbers decrease because of the overt Islamization policies which are put in place.
Coptic Christians in Egypt and Assyrian Christians in Iraq, alongside other minorities in Iraq, has a rich history which pre-dates Islam. However, countless Islamic invasions led to the marginalization of Christianity in both nations and Islamization and Arabization followed.
Today Iraq is in crisis and American military forces and other international troops have abandoned the Christians of Iraq and the same applies to major international world leaders. Therefore, the Iraqi Christian community is in free fall and the same applies to the Mandaeans, Shabaks, and Yazidis.
The situation in Nigeria is complex because of the ethnic and religious diversity of this nation. Also, vast areas in Nigeria have never been Islamized. In recent times it is the growth of Christianity in Nigeria which is vibrant and this fact is clearly causing alarm bells amongst Islamists in northern Nigeria because they fear the growth of Christianity.
Therefore, the implementation of Islamic Sharia law was aimed at preventing the continuing growth of Christianity in the heartlands of Islam in northern Nigeria. At the same time Islamic leaders hope to create a power base in order to propagate the faith of Islam to other parts of Nigeria. The theory is simple, to keep Islam in power in northern Nigeria and to create a cushion via Islamic Sharia law and the use of violence is part and parcel of this strategy.

Pope Benedict clearly understands that the Christians of Iraq face complete annihilation because the international community is just “standing back and doing nothing.” Islamic jihadists and regional actors which desire to seek the destruction of Christianity in Iraq are getting their wish because you have “no backbone within the international community” and all non-Muslim minorities are expendable.
The recent terrorist attack in Egypt was condemned by Pope Benedict because he stated that “This vile gesture of death, like that of putting bombs near to the houses of Christians in Iraq to force them to leave, offends God and all of humanity.” Pope Benedict also stated that “words were not enough” and it is clear that the Vatican desires to see real action and commitment in order to protect all religious minorities who are suffering in the Middle East.
In my article called Muslims slaughter Christians in Egypt I stated that “In recent times you have had many attacks against Christians and this applies to murders, riots against Christians, attacks against Coptic Christian churches, abduction and forced rapes of Christian females, and other insidious forms of discrimination and persecution.”
“In truth, ever since the first Islamic conquest of Egypt you have had systematic persecution because religious pluralism and freedom of thought does not exist in Islam. Therefore, from the very foundation of Islam in Egypt it was clear that Christians had to pay tax (jizya) in order to be protected and non-payment could mean death, enslavement, or forced conversion”
These comments were made after Coptic Christians were killed in Nag Hamadi in Upper Egypt after attending a Christmas midnight mass. Therefore, it is clear that you have a similar pattern and major dates of joy are seen by Islamists to be a time of opportunity in order to kill in the name of Allah and to spill the blood of Christians.
Turning back to Nigeria, it is clear that recent attacks against Christian churches and the Christian community is nothing new. Therefore, Christians in northern Nigeria, just like the Christian dominated elite in southern Sudan, are on the frontline against the tide of Islamic jihad and Islamization. It is essential that democratic nations wake up to the geopolitical reality of Islam and to the political and ideological nature of this faith. After all, Islam is based on devouring non-Muslims and history tells us that the end result is brutal and leads to utter backwardness and barbarity.
Non-Muslims are being devoured by the sword of Islam and this applies to Hindus in Kashmir; Buddhists in southern Thailand; Christians in Somalia; and in Iraq and Pakistan several different faith communities are facing the Islamic end game. The list could easily be added because the Orthodox Christians of Kosovo and the Baha’is of Iran face a bleak future and many holy places have been attacked.
In my article called The Destruction of Christianity in Iraq since the American invasion I comment that “Of course many American soldiers have tried to protect churches and minority communities, however, the leaders of the USA and United Kingdom are indifferent at best, or at worse, they simply do not care about their plight. Instead both nations focused on introducing Islamic Sharia law and no special zones were created to protect the Christian community and other neglected minorities, like the Mandaeans, Shabaks, Turkmens (who are Muslim), and Yazidis. This policy led to alienation and Christians and other minorities became easy targets because they had no military forces to protect them.”
I continued by commenting that “….the destruction of Christianity in Iraq is taking place because of misguided American policies and because the Christian community is not deemed to be important. So did more Christians leave Iraq under Saddam Hussein or under the American led coalition? And did Saddam Hussein introduce Islamic Sharia law or was it introduced under the American led coalition? Both times the negative answer belongs to the American led invasion because Christians and other minorities have fled their homeland because they feel abandoned and completely marginalized.” (http://www.aina.org/guesteds/20081017163356.htm)
It is clear that the Christians of Iraq and other minorities have been abandoned and their plight is clear for all to see. It must be worrying for the Coptic Christians of Egypt to witness the ongoing events in Iraq because are they not also expendable? After all, the Coptic Christians face not only the threat of Islamic fanatics but they also suffer because of institutional discrimination and this is the crux of the matter.
Irrespective of who is persecuting the Coptic Christians it is clear that America and other Western powers are only interested in their own self interests. Therefore, the Coptic Christian community and the Christians of Iraq are not tied into economic support and policy objectives.
The Christian community will continue to suffer massacres and pogroms in northern Nigeria but the Christian community in this nation will not remain passive because they know that the future of Nigeria is in the balance. However, the state apparatus is against the Christian community in Egypt and legal discrimination and overt Islamic policies is aimed at weakening the Christian community. While in Iraq it is clear that the central government is weak and Christians have no protection from the Islamic sword which desires the blood of innocents.

Muslims killing christians
BY MAGGIE MICHAEL, Associated Press Maggie Michael, Associated Press – 22 mins ago

ALEXANDRIA, Egypt – A powerful bomb, possibly from a suicide attacker, exploded in front of a Coptic Christian church as a crowd of worshippers emerged from a New Years Mass early Saturday, killing at least 21 people and wounding nearly 80 in an attack that raised suspicions of an al-Qaida role.

The attack came in the wake of repeated threats by al-Qaida militants in Iraq to attack Egypt's Christians. A direct al-Qaida hand in the bombing would be a dramatic development, as the government of President Hosni Mubarak has long denied that the terror network has a significant presence in the country. Al-Qaida in Iraq has already been waging a campaign of violence against Christians in that country.

In the wake of a series of attacks in Baghdad and Mosul, thousands of Iraqi Christians have fled abroad or to the relative safety of the Kurdish north. By STEVEN LEE MYERS
Published: December 12, 2010
QOSH, Iraq — A new wave of Iraqi Christians has fled to northern Iraq or abroad amid a campaign of violence against them and growing fear that the country’s security forces are unable or, more ominously, unwilling to protect them.
Some fleeing Christians are finding sanctuary in Qosh. More Photos »

The flight — involving thousands of residents from Baghdad and Mosul, in particular — followed an Oct. 31 siege at a church in Baghdad that killed 51 worshipers and 2 priests and a subsequent series of bombings and assassinations singling out Christians. This new exodus, which is not the first, highlights the continuing displacement of Iraqis despite improved security over all and the near-resolution of the political impasse that gripped the country after elections in March.

It threatens to reduce further what Archdeacon Emanuel Youkhana of the Assyrian Church of the East called “a community whose roots were in Iraq even before Christ.”

Those who fled the latest violence — many of them in a panicked rush, with only the possessions they could pack in cars — warned that the new violence presages the demise of the faith in Iraq. Several evoked the mass departure of Iraq’s Jews after the founding of the state of Israel in 1948.

“It’s exactly what happened to the Jews,” said Nassir Sharhoom, 47, who fled last month to the Kurdish capital, Erbil, with his family from Dora, a once mixed neighborhood in Baghdad. “They want us all to go.”

Iraq’s leaders, including Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, have pledged to tighten security and appealed for tolerance for minority faiths in what is an overwhelmingly Muslim country.

“The Christian is an Iraqi,” he said after visiting those wounded in the siege of the church, Our Lady of Salvation, the worst single act of violence against Christians since 2003. “He is the son of Iraq and from the depths of a civilization that we are proud of.”

For those who fled, though, such pronouncements have been met with growing skepticism. The daily threats, the uncertainty and palpable terror many face have overwhelmed even the pleas of Christian leaders not to abandon their historic place in a diverse Iraq.

“Their faith in God is strong,” said the Rev. Gabriele Tooma, who heads the Monastery of the Virgin Mary, part of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Qosh, which opened its monastic rooms to 25 families in recent weeks. “It is their faith in the government that has weakened.”

Christians, of course, are not the only victims of the bloodshed that has swept Iraq for more than seven and a half years; Sunni and Shiite Arabs have died on a far greater scale. Only two days after the attack on the church, a dozen bombs tore through Sunni and Shiite neighborhoods in Baghdad, killing at least 68 people and wounding hundreds.

The Christians and other smaller minority groups here, however, have been explicitly made targets and have emigrated in disproportionate numbers. According to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, these groups account for 20 percent of the Iraqis who have gone abroad, while they were only 3 percent of the country’s prewar population.

More than half of Iraq’s Christian community, estimated to number 800,000 to 1.4 million before the American-led invasion in 2003, have already left the country.

The Islamic State of Iraq, an iteration of the insurgent group Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, claimed responsibility for the suicidal siege and said its fighters would kill Christians “wherever they can reach them.”

What followed last month were dozens of shootings and bombings in Baghdad and Mosul, the two cities outside of the semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq. At least a dozen more Christians died, eight of them in Mosul.

Three generations of the Gorgiz family — 15 in all — fled their homes there on the morning of Nov. 23 as the killings spread. Crowded into a single room at the monastery in Qosh, they described living in a state of virtual siege, afraid to wear crosses on the streets, afraid to work or even leave their houses in the end.

The night before they left, Diana Gorgiz, 35, said she heard voices and then screams; someone had set fire to the garden of a neighbor’s house. The Iraqi Army arrived and stayed until morning, only to tell them they were not safe there anymore. The Gorgizes took it as a warning — and an indication of complicity, tacit or otherwise, by Iraq’s security forces. “When the army comes and says, ‘We cannot protect you,’ ” Ms. Gorgiz said, “what else can you believe?”

There is no exact accounting of those who have fled internally or abroad. The United Nations has registered more than 1,100 families. A steady flow of Christians to Turkey spiked in November to 243, an official there said.

The Kurdish Regional Government in northern Iraq offered itself as a haven and pledged to help refugees with housing and jobs. Many of those who fled are wealthy enough to afford rents in Iraqi Kurdistan; others have moved in with relatives; the worst off have ended up at the monastery here and another nearby, St. Matthew’s, one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world.

Understanding Our Enemies

by Rabbi Daniel M. Zucker, D.D.
World Defense Review contributor

The sixth century before the Common Era Chinese philosopher-general Sun Tzu, author of The Art of War,[1] emphasized the importance of understanding one's enemy. That is a rule of warfare that we ignore at great peril to our success and ultimately to the preservation of our freedom. In our ongoing war with Islamic radical fundamentalism, it appears that our political leadership fails to grasp the significance of the ideology of both Sunni and Shiite radical fundamentalists.[2] Our ability to defeat al-Qaeda and other Sunni radicals, as well as to defeat the Shiite Islamic Republic of Iran (both groups being at war with the United States and the West in general) will remain seriously compromised until we understand well what drives them and what it is that they ultimately wish to accomplish.[3]

At one level, the job of comprehending radical Islam is not difficult at all. This task is simple because the Islamists are very vocal about what they want to accomplish, which is the establishment of a Moslem caliphate or universal Moslem empire.[4] Much more difficult is the mission of causing our leaders to confront the threats and to deal properly with them.[5] One thing should be most clear to all by now: given the opportunity, the Islamist radical will do his utmost to impose his will upon the world, whether or not we are willing to submit.

Unfortunately, too many of our leaders believe that everything has a price-tag attached to it, and if one can only discover what that price is, it is possible to negotiate, barter, or pay, and thus solve the problem. Since this market-place strategy operates well within Western political systems, it is assumed that it can be just as efficient when used in dealing with Islamic radicals. However, the Islamist radical is a "true believer" whose beliefs and convictions are not for sale. He/she is willing to die for his/her beliefs, and so market-place strategies have no influence upon him/her. The only price that the Islamist is willing to accept is our surrender or capitulation; that price-tag is too high to pay for anyone who treasures freedom.

To date, too few Western leaders have taken Iranian leaders like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad[6] or Ali Khamenei[7] at their word when they say that Israel must disappear from the map and/or the pages of history. And while it is doubtful that Iran has plans to implement the immediate fulfillment of its anti-Israel campaign, there should be little question that the current Iranian government is attempting to establish its hegemony over the region[8] and sees Israel[9] as well as the United States[10] as an impediment that needs to be removed in order to establish that hegemony.[11] The recent visit of Ahmadinejad to Lebanon, and to south Lebanon in particular, should serve to awaken our leaders to the fact that Iran is extending its influence[12] and drawing more nations into its anti-Western axis.

The Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) has consistently used the same tactics for thirty years: it has employed proxies to do its biding.[13] Whether one is considering Hamas, Hizballah, Jihad Islami, al-Qaeda, or the Taliban, it is the IRI that has trained, supplied, and aided both Sunni[14] and Shiite[15] jihadists in its ongoing thirty-plus year war with the West,[16] and continues to do so.[17]

It should not be naively assumed that the Islamist attack against the West will end should the State of Israel disappear from the map. The Islamists' desire to impose shari‘ah law is not limited to the Dar al-Islam (Islamic world);[18] it is a step in the program of converting the Dar al-Harb (the non-Islamic world) and absorbing it into the Dar al-Islam.[19] Islamists increasingly are moving into an aggressive mode in their belief that they are succeeding in their quest.[20] We in the West need to step out of our own egocentric weltanschauung and begin to comprehend the mindset of the Islamist. Until we comprehend his thinking, we cannot succeed in planning adequately to countermand his plans and objectives.

One of the first things that we need to understand about the Islamist is his sense of history and the direction of its tide. The Islamist believes that history ultimately is on his side; he believes that Islam will eventually prevail and conquer the globe. Total success may require centuries, but he is convinced that Islam is winning. And in terms of sheer numbers of adherents, the Islamist has reason to believe as he does. While western European countries continue to welcome large numbers of Moslem immigrants into their territory without assimilating them into their respective cultures, Islamists throughout Europe[21] and North America[22] have succeeded in radicalizing the mosques and Islamic education centers. When the Ikhwan (the Muslim Brotherhood)'sSupreme Guide, Muhammad Badi‘, can publicly call for Moslems worldwide to join a jihad against the West,[23] we should begin to realize the size and nature of the conflict in which we are being engaged.[24]

Nor should jihad be understood only in terms of martial actions; jihad can and does take the form of economic warfare and subterfuge.[25] Stuart Levey, the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, [26] has led a brilliant campaign to counteract the Islamists' jihad against the United States, but his work and that of his fellows at Treasury have been isolated examples of the necessary effort that must be expended in order to defeat our enemies. Too many staffers at the State Department and too many advisors in Congress and the White House are woefully ignorant of the threats from radical Islam—whether it is in the form of sleeper cells of al-Qaeda or from agents of the IRI and its allies and proxies.[27] So too, our intelligence agencies need to be more aggressive in determining changing patterns and alliances in the Moslem world. The radical change of direction of Turkey under Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the AKP, and its alliances[28] with Iran and Syria are examples of situations that need to be anticipated and assessed in a more timely manner, allowing us to protect our intelligence and that of our key allies. Turkey's drift into the Islamist camp has not occurred overnight[29]—it has been occurring in incremental steps over most of the last eight years since the AKP came to power. Yet, it appears that our government has been taken by surprise by these changes, and others,[30] and been slow to adjust to them.

In summation, Sun Tzu's sage advice becomes imperative for us if we are to win the war with radical Islam. Our enemies are "in for the long haul"; we had better realize that we too, need to be prepared and dedicated to winning this war—however long it takes—and winning it decisively.

Iraqi Christians Put to the Sword - Adrian Blomfield
The Stars of David carved into the stonework of the low-slung buildings that line the alleyways of Abu Nuwas Street in Baghdad are little more than a curiosity these days - a memento of a civilization lost to the pages of history. Judaism has a connection to Iraq that no other faith can match. The patriarch Abraham may well have been born there; the prophet Jonah reluctantly returned to foretell the destruction of Nineveh. Centuries later, the Bible tells us that the exiled Jewish people sat down by Babylon's rivers and wept for their homeland. Yet Jewish links to Iraq are far from ancient history. In the 1920s, there were 130,000 Jews in Baghdad, 40% of the population. Today, after decades of persecution before and immediately after the creation of the State of Israel, there are no more than 8.
The Iraqi Christian community is one of the oldest on earth. Yet after a series of attacks in the past month by Islamist extremists, fears are mounting that Christianity in Iraq is doomed to follow Judaism into oblivion. Earlier this week, Athanasius Dawood, the exiled archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Church, gave a warning that the minority was facing extinction at the hands of a campaign of "pre-meditated ethnic cleansing." Muslim Wars - Editorial
In January, a mob of 1,000 Muslims burned down two Christian churches in Sumatra, Indonesia, because there were "too many faithful and too many prayers" going on. This week in Pakistan, Asia Bibi, a 45-year-old Christian mother of five, was sentenced to death for alleged blasphemy against Muhammad. She had been working on a farm with other women when she was asked to fetch some drinking water. Her Muslim co-workers refused to drink it because it was "unclean" after being touched by a Christian. An argument broke out, and later Ms. Bibi was attacked by a mob.
This case illustrates the true complexities and depth of intolerance America faces in dealing with the world's Muslims. (Washington Times

Why west denies islamic terror problem

Rather than discuss the nature and threat of Islamic supremacism, the Western media, Western political leaders and academics deny it.
Talkbacks (49)
Years from now, when historians seek an overarching concept to define our times, they could do worse than refer to it as the Age of Dissimulation. Today our leading minds devote their energies and cognitive powers to figuring out new ways to hide reality from themselves and the general public.

Take US President Barack Obama’s senior counterterrorism advisor for example. On Sunday, John Brennan spoke on Fox News about the latest attempted Islamic terrorist attack on American soil.

Since the Obama administration has barred US officials from referring to terrorists as terrorists and effectively barred US officials from acknowledging that Islamic terrorists are Muslims, Brennan simply referred to the Islamic terrorists in Yemen who tried to send bombs to synagogues in Chicago as “individuals.”

Today, practically, the only individuals willing to speak honestly about who Islamic supremacists are and what they want are the Islamic supremacists themselves.

For instance, in an interview last week with Reuters, the Islamic supremacist Hamas movement’s “foreign minister” Mahmoud al- Zahar told the Christian West, “You do not live like human beings. You do not [even] live like animals. You accept homosexuality. And now you criticize us?”

Al-Zahar also made the case for Islamic feminism. As he put it, “We are the ones who respect women and honor women ... not you. You use women as an animal. She has one husband and hundreds of thousands of boyfriends. You don’t know who is the father of your sons, because of the way you respect women.”

Finally, al-Zahar claimed that Westerners have no right to question Islam or criticize it. In his words, “Is it a crime to Islamize the people? I am a Muslim living here according to our tradition. Why should I live under your tradition? We understand you very well. You are poor people. Morally poor. Don’t criticize us because of what we are.”

Al-Zahar can sleep easy. The citizens of the West have rarely heard anyone in any positions of power and influence criticize Islamic supremacists “because of what they are.”

In fact, the most remarkable thing about al- Zahar’s interview was not what he said but that Reuters decided to publish what he said. By letting its readers learn what al-Zahar thinks of them, Reuters inadvertently gave Westerners a glimpse at the simple truth its editors and their counterparts throughout the Western media routinely purge from coverage of current events.

Rather than discuss the nature and threat of Islamic supremacism, the Western media along with nearly all Western political leaders and academics deny and dissimulate. Rather than address the threat, they accept the Islamic line and blame Israel for everything bad that happens in the world.

THE ONE group of people that can almost be forgiven for this crime against reality is the non-Muslims who live under Islamic rule. On Sunday, we received a grim reminder of the plight of such minorities with the Islamic terror attack on Baghdad’s largest church, the Our Lady of Salvation Catholic church.

As some one hundred worshipers celebrated evening mass, Islamic terrorists stormed the church. According to an eyewitness account, they walked straight up to the priest administering the mass and executed him. The Muslim terrorists then took the Christian worshipers hostage.

As Iraqi military forces stormed the church under US military supervision, the Islamic terrorists threw grenades at the worshipers and detonated their bomb belts. By Monday, the death toll had reached 52.

It will be interesting to see how Catholic officials in Iraq and throughout the world respond to this attack. At the Vatican’s Synod on the status of Christians in the Middle East last month, Emmanuel III Delly, the head of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq proclaimed, “The population of [Iraq] …is 24 million, all Muslims, with whom we live peacefully and freely…Christians are good with their fellow Muslims and in Iraq there is mutual respect among them.”

As the noted Islamic expert Robert Spencer wrote last week in Frontpage Magazine, Emmanuel has not always been so outspoken in his praise of Muslim Iraqis. In 2008, when US forces were still in charge in Iraq, Emmanuel made a statement that more accurately reflected the plight of his co-religionists.

Then he said, “Christians are killed, chased out of their homes before the very eyes of those who are supposed to be responsible for their safety…The situation in some parts of Iraq is disastrous and tragic. Life is a Calvary: there is no peace or security… Everyone is afraid of kidnapping.”

Christian clergy in Muslim countries are so terrified of Islamic aggression that they systematically hide the truth of their oppression and often distort their own theology to win the tolerance of supremacist Islamic authorities. Spencer noted that the head of that Vatican Synod, Archbishop Cyril Salim Bustros, who presently heads the Eastern Catholic church in the US, and in the past served as archbishop of Baalbek in his native Lebanon follows a similar pattern of dissimulation.

In Bustros’s case, his prevaricating goes beyond false depictions of the plight of Christians. In his bid to win the favor of his Islamic supremacist overlords in Hizbullah, Bustros has regularly engaged in theological revisionism.

At last month’s synod, Bustros repudiated the teachings of the Catholic Church’s Second Vatican Council and embraced the discredited supersessionist theology that Vatican II denounced. Bustros claimed that God’s covenant with the Jewish people and his promise to give us the Land of Israel “were nullified by Christ.”

In his view, “There is no longer a chosen people.”

Bustros did not simply assert a theological view at odds with the doctrine of the Catholic Church. He used his replacement theology to politically delegitimize Israel. Bustros said, “The theme of the Promised Land cannot be used as a basis to justify the return of the Jews to Israel and the expatriation of the Palestinians.” Bustros is set to return to Lebanon soon to serve as the archbishop of Beirut. The fact that he used his position as the head of the Vatican’s synod on the plight of Christians in the Middle East to earn him the protection of Hizbullah when he returns is made clear when his statements at the conference are compared to a speech he made in 2006, when he was still comfortably ensconced in the US.

As Spencer notes, in a speech Bustros made at St. Thomas University in Florida in 2006, Bustros minced no words about the plight of Christians in the Middle East. Addressing the Islamic precepts on relations with non-Muslims, Bustros said, “The doctrines of Islam dictate war against unbelievers….[T]he concept of nonviolence is absent from Muslim doctrine and practice….Peace in Islam is based on the surrender of all people to Islam and to God’s power based on Islamic law. They have to defend this peace of God even by force.”

FEAR OF Islamic massacres of Christians – like the one in Baghdad on Sunday – goes a long way towards explaining anti-Jewish and pro-Islamic pronouncements by Christian clergy in the Islamic world. But what can explain the West’s embrace of lies about Islam?

Why would people who do not live under the jackboot of the likes of Hizbullah, Hamas or their sister groups in places like Iraq obsequiously parrot untruths about Islamic history and theology and deny the very existence of Islamic supremacism?

The most notable case of such behavior in recent weeks came with the UN Educational, Science and Cultural Organization’s Executive Board’s declarations about Israel and Jewish history. At its October 21 meeting, the governing board of the UN agency charged with naming and preserving world heritage sites engaged in a shocking episode of historic revisionism in the service of Islamic supremacism.

UNESCO’s board issued five declarations regarding Israel. In addition to its routine condemnations of the security fence, Israeli sovereignty in Jerusalem and Israel’s refusal to give Hamas control over its border with Israel, UNESCO’s board asserted that the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, where Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca and Leah are all buried, is a mosque. Rachel’s Tomb, where Rachel is buried, is also a mosque, according to UNESCO’s governing body.

It is not surprising that UNESCO’s Muslim members pushed for these declarations. Islam is a supersessionist religion. It claims that all the Jewish patriarchs and matriarchs as well as all the Jewish prophets, kings and judges were Muslim. It similarly claims that Jesus, Mary and the apostles were Muslims. It is standard Islamic practice to transform Jewish and Christian holy sites in lands conquered by Islam into mosques.

It is this Islamic practice that led Yasser Arafat to shock and disgust Yitzhak Rabin in July 1995 when he proclaimed that, “Rachel was my grandmother.”

Arafat’s statement was the first time that a Muslim leader in modern times claimed Rachel’s grave is a mosque. Arafat made his preposterous claim in the course of negotiations about the disposition of Rachel’s Tomb in Bethlehem. Due to its significance to Jews, Israel demanded full security control over the tomb. Arafat based his counter-claim on standard Islamic historical revisionism.

While Rabin rejected Arafat’s baseless assertion, last month UNESCO’s executive committee, whose membership includes France, Belgium, Spain, Japan, Poland, Germany, Greece, Haiti, Italy, the US and India accepted Arafat’s wholly false rendition of the historical record. In so doing, they collaborated with an Islamic attempt to eradicate Jewish history.

Why would they do this? They are not bishops who have to worry that their communities will be annihilated if they step out of line.

No doubt, fear of Islamic terrorism fuels some of their behavior. But fear can’t be the full explanation. Most Westerners have no contact with Muslims. And Islamic terrorist attacks in the West are not a daily occurrence.

The West’s newfound obsession with Islamophobia probably also has something to do with it. Western elites are terrified of being accused of racism. This is particularly true when – as is the case with Islamophobia – the charge is leveled on behalf of people who were oppressed in the past by Westerners.

But while fear of the charge of Islamophobia does play a role in Western kowtowing to Islamic supremacists, the West’s aversion to the perception that it is oppressing those it once oppressed fails to provide an adequate explanation for its willingness to collaborate with Islamic supremacist attempts to blot out Jewish history. The West’s history of oppressing Jews is far bloodier and longer than its record of oppressing Muslims.

In the end, there is only one credible explanation for the West’s willingness to lie about the nature and goals of Islamic supremacism. There is only one credible explanation for the West’s willingness to collaborate with Islamic supremacists as they purge the historical record of the Jewish roots of Western civilization. There is only one explanation for the West’s willingness to accept the Islamic supremacist assertion that Israel is to blame for Islamic aggression against Jews and Christians alike.

But if I mention anti-Semitism, I will be attacked as a paranoid Jew.

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

I walked down the street in Barcelona and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz ... We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.

Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by Europe.

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatic’s intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Look at what political correctness has done to Europe. We all must stand together before it's too late and everything America stands for is lost.

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The

'offends' the Muslim population which claims it
never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However,
this is a frightening portent of the fear that is
gripping the world and how easily each country is

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

The following is a copy of an article written by Spanish writer Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez and published in a Spanish newspaper on Jan. 15 2008. It doesn't take much imagination to extrapolate the message to the rest of Europe - and possibly to the rest of the world.

Jewish-Muslim Pairings Facing Toughest Test

As Twinning Weekend nears, a sense of resolve among participants in wake of Park51; key N.Y. defection.

In West Newton, Mass., Congregation Dorshei Tzedek will sponsor a joint program with an area mosque in November. The interfaith activity will mark the Reconstructionist synagogue’s first participation in the third annual Weekend of Twinning sponsored by the New York-based Foundation for Ethnic Understanding.

The congregation’s decision to take part in the program was spurred by “acrimony” over the construction of a local Islamic cultural center — a situation that has played out across the country in recent months — and a desire to improve relations between the faiths, said Dorshei Tzedek’s Rabbi Toba Spitzer.
“We should be showing our solidarity with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” the rabbi said.

But on Manhattan’s East Side, Sutton Place Synagogue, which hosted a Twinning event last year, has pulled out of the program this year. Because of the controversy surrounding a planned Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero, the Conservative congregation is nervous about inviting a putative “moderate” Muslim leader who may later turn out to have radical connections, said Rabbi Allan Schranz. He was referring to Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who heads the Cordoba House, or Park51, project on Park Place.

“We are more cautious. I am more cautious,” he says.

In California’s Silicon Valley, Congregation Shir Hadash, for the third year running, will soon sponsor an interfaith program with Muslim participants. This time around, anti-Muslim reactions around the country because of Cordoba House — notably the called-off Koran burning by a Florida pastor — played a big role in the synagogue’s decision to re-up, said Rabbi Melanie Aron.

The firestorm of controversy unleashed over the so-called Ground Zero mosque, which has fueled anger about other mosque projects from Tennessee to California, is providing the stiffest test to date for the fledgling Weekend of Twinning program. And it has forced individual synagogues involved in the interfaith effort to make tough decisions, often in the face of community criticism. But interviews with rabbis and imams involved in the program, and with its organizers, reveal a sense of resolve on the part of participants.

In fact, though the Twinning program may feel like it is catering to the already tolerant, the “mosque” controversy seems to have pushed more Jewish organizations toward, rather than away from, joint events with Muslim partners.

Physical and verbal attacks on Muslims “make people see the value of these type of [stereotype-busting] programs,” said Rabbi Aron, whose Reform congregation will twin with a nearby Shia mosque in November. “Jews have a visceral reaction to burning books.

“We have had some criticism from the greater Jewish community, and we have struggled with the issue of how ‘pure’ our Muslims partners have to be,” Rabbi Aron continued. “If we set the gate too high and don’t talk to anyone who has ever talked to anyone we object to, we really cut ourselves off unnecessarily from people who are open to dialogue with us. We have found in our very diverse community … that there is more to be gained from participating in broad interfaith efforts than there is to lose.”

The number of participating cities for this year’s Twinning weekend, set for Nov. 5-7, which doubled from 50 in 2008 to about 110 last year, will probably increase again this year, said Walter Ruby, the Foundation’s Muslim Jewish Relations program officer. That will include more than a dozen Jewish-Muslim twinnings in the Greater New York area, also a slight increase from 2009. The events typically consist of visits to each other’s houses of worship, pulpit exchanges and joint educational programs.

More than a month before the Twinning weekend, Ruby (who is also a freelance writer for The Jewish Week) did not have the final figure this week of participating communities in the United States and abroad, but said Jewish groups and Muslim partners in Bulgaria, Austria and Tunisia will take part for the first time, in addition to established partners in England and France.

“I have not seen any indication that people are backing away. I have not seen a negative reaction” to the Cordoba House controversy, he said.

Ruby said he has not heard calls from possible Jewish participants asking for more-extensive verification of Muslim participants’ backgrounds. He said he knows of only one past participant, Sutton Place Synagogue, which has dropped out because of the controversy. And he has heard from several Jewish organizations whose interest in the Twinning program was fanned by the ongoing debate. They ask him, “What can I do, how do I do it?” he said.

The public debate over Cordoba House has forced many members of the Jewish community to take a position, said Aaron Hahn Tapper, founder and co-executive director of the California-based Abraham’s Vision, a “conflict transformation organization” that sponsors a wide variety of joint Jewish-Muslim activities.

“There’s a greater polarization … a lot of people in the middle are being pushed to make a decision, for or against such ecumenical programs, he said.

The comments of American Muslim leaders like Imam Feisal and other Islamic spokesmen who have identified themselves as moderates, but who also have a history of making less-accommodating statements or have connections to questionable Muslim organizations, reportedly make many people, including American Jews, wary of taking part in events with Muslims.

But spokesmen for local Islamic organizations say they have not experienced this.

Imam Shamsi Ali, director of the Jamaica Muslim Center, said that while he is “sure” some members of the American Jewish community are reluctant to work with Muslims, he has not noticed Jewish resistance to taking part in Twinning events. Neither are American Muslims more reluctant this year to join such interfaith activities. “I don’t notice any change.”

As part of the Twinning Weekend, his Center will host Kehilath Sephardim from Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, on Nov. 15, and representatives of both institutions will lobby public officials about such issues as government support for private schools and increased municipal services later this year.
Habeeb Ahmed, chairman of the board of the Islamic Center of Long Island, also says he has not noticed a wariness on the part of possible Jewish Twinning partners. “I have not found this to be the case.”

Representatives from major Muslim American organizations met near JFK Airport last week to discuss what they see as an increasing anti-Muslim sentiment in this country. “There’s been a heightened sense of suspicion — prejudice against Muslims is increasing in the Jewish American community,” Abraham’s Vision’s Tapper said.

The controversy has not lessened the enthusiasm of the membership of Temple Beth El of Great Neck for its Twinning program with the Islamic Center of Westbury. The two institutions have been partners in ecumenical efforts for some 20 years, said Rabbi Meir Feldman.

“I don’t think people — even those opposed to the Islamic center in Manhattan — find that a reason to distance ourselves from Muslims or from the Muslim community,” he said of members of his Reform congregation.

His congregants consider “finding a way to collaborate with Muslims ... an important experience.”

At New York University, where a Twinning dialogue program will be part of a yearlong interaction between Jewish and Muslim students in classes and other campus settings, the debate over Cordoba House has not increased or decreased students’ interest, said Rabbi Yehuda Sarna, university chaplain.
“They are able to separate between the efforts of some to build a mosque in Manhattan, and [relations with] their peers.”

But for Sutton Place’s Rabbi Schranz, the difficulty in vetting Muslim leaders is a problem.

“I am suspicious” about sponsoring a speech by an Islamic representative, “a supposed moderate who turns out to be a fanatic,” he said. “I am not a suspicious person by nature.”

The Twinning program at his congregation last year featured Imam Feisal and his wife, Daisy Kahn.

Since their appearance, where they spoke about the value of mutual tolerance, several controversial remarks by the imam have surfaced, including his refusal to condemn Hamas as a terrorist organization and his assertion that the U.S. is partially responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The record of a future Muslim participant in the Twinning program will require a more extensive background check, Rabbi Schranz said. “It’s not prejudice — you don’t know who you’re dealing with.” His feelings, he said, “reflect on the whole the feelings of the congregation.”

The planned Islamic Center, and resulting suspicion of Muslims, will not be an official theme of the upcoming programs, but the subject is certain to be on everybody’s mind, Ruby said. “I can’t imagine there won’t be any mention of it.”

In Buffalo, that city’s fledgling Muslim-Jewish interfaith effort, Building Bridges, has run into stiff opposition.

It was founded by Dr. Robert Stall, a geriatric physician, and Dr. Othman Shibly, who teaches in the SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, shortly after a February 2009 plane crash that took the life of Cantor Susan Wehle, who had volunteered to teach an interfaith course for the Bureau of Jewish Education. Stall, who met Shibly at a memorial service for the cantor, took on Cantor Wehle’s teaching assignment, inviting Shibly and some Muslim students to the classes.

Out of that, Building Bridges, which has sponsored a health fair (with Jewish and Muslim doctors participating) and joint educational programs, was born.

The background of Shibly, a Beirut-born periodontist and expert on Islamic law, quickly came under fire; teachers he had studied with in Syria two decades earlier had made intemperate statements about Israel and Jews.

Articles in Buffalo’s weekly Jewish Review and on the PeaceAndTolerance.org website called Shibly a closet supporter of terrorism. “Guilt by association,” he told The Jewish Week — “110 percent not true.”

While four Buffalo-area congregations will sponsor Twinning activities in November, the organized Jewish community has taken a hands-off position. The Jewish Federation of Greater Buffalo offers no comment on the initiative besides stating that it has “not been involved.” In addition, the Building Bridges course will not be offered by the Bureau of Jewish Education this year, and Temple Beth Zion, the city’s biggest congregation, is running its own activities with the Muslim community.

“There are people in the Jewish community who criticize you if you interact with Muslims,” Rabbi Drorah Setel, president of Buffalo’s Board of Rabbis and an enthusiastic booster of Jewish-Muslim activities, told The Jewish Week. “It’s a sad commentary on the level of fear in the Jewish community.”

In Dallas, Temple Shalom, which is Reform and has taken part in the Foundation’s Twinning weekend in each of its three years, will join the Islamic Association of Carrollton in a still-to-be-determined social action project in November — despite the occasional criticism from members of the Dallas Jewish community.

“They [Muslim partners in interfaith work] are pulling the wool over your eyes,” Rabbi Jeremy Schneider said some Dallas Jews tell him.

The rabbi said that improved Jewish-Muslim relations in Dallas are proof that he is on the right track.

When a controversy like the Cordoba House happens, Rabbi Schneider said, ties between Jews and Muslims in the Dallas area largely aren’t affected because leaders and members of both communities already know and trust each other. “We have those [close] relations,” Rabbi Schneider says. “We can rise above that kind of silliness.”

Anti-Semitism, Islam and Israel

=20
Rabbi Meirovitz
Speaking personally, this past summer has been a rigorous learning
process as I tried to get a grip on the religious and social forces that
drive Islamic anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. These are areas where I
count myself a novice. I have relied on the interpretations of four
distinguished Jewish scholars. I mention them by name now to lend
intelligence and measures of credibility to my points of view: Bernard
Lewis, emeritus professor at Princeton University, regarded as the
foremost interpreter of Islam to the Western world; Robert Wistrich of
Hebrew University where he heads the Vidal Sassoon International Center
for the Study of Anti-Semitism; Michael Berenbaum, former Director of
the United States Holocaust Research Institute at Washington's Holocaust
Memorial Museum; and my friend and colleague, Mark Cohen of Princeton
University, Professor of Jewish Civilization in the Near East.

=20

Islam is one of the world's great religions. It has given dignity and
meaning to drab and impoverished lives. It has taught people of
different races to live in brotherhood, and people of different creeds
to live side by side in reasonable tolerance. It inspired a great
civilization in which others besides Muslims lived creative and useful
lives and which, by its achievements, enriched the whole world.=20

=20

At the same time, Islam, no less than Christianity and Judaism, has
known periods and personalities when it inspired in some, but by no
means all of its followers, a mood of hatred and violence. It is our
misfortune that we are now living at such a time. Both as Jews and as
participants in Western civilization, we are witnesses to a clash of
civilizations between liberal democracy and a segment of Islamic society
that promotes Islamic theocracy and jihad, holy war.

=20

The definitive word on the varieties of Islam comes from Professor
Bernard Lewis: "In our own day, certain self-styled fighters for Islam,
who claim to be acting in the name of their faith, have brutally
maltreated hostages and other innocent victims, and their claim has not
been convincingly repudiated by accredited Muslim authorities. But these
are crimes against civility, decency, and humanity, not against
non-Muslims as such, and those who have committed them, along with those
who direct them, deal as badly or worse with their own coreligonists;
[for proof look at the current Iranian regime's crackdown on its own
citizens' human rights]. Both as tyrants at home and as terrorists
abroad, their actions are in violation of Islamic morality and law." =20

=20

When we look through the lens of history we can appreciate the decent
degree of co-existence that defined Jewish-Muslim relations for more
than a thousand years. Only against this backdrop can we explain why
the relationship has gone so sour in our day. To make the point exact,
Arabic-speaking Jewry up to the twentieth century was so much more
comfortably integrated in the surrounding culture of the Middle East
than were their Jewish brothers and sisters living under the umbrella of
European Christendom. In fact, it is these very different social
experiences that explain why the Jewish record under Islam, until the
twentieth century, has no comparable documentation like the gloomy
chronicles of Christian persecution and Jewish martyrdom that shaped the
memory of Ashkenazi Jews.=20

=20

Many of us are familiar with the catch-phrase - "The Golden Age in
Spain," referring to medieval Jewish-Muslim co-existence, a kind of
interfaith utopia, marked by blossoming cultural achievements and
acceptance as equals into the highest social, professional, and
political ranks of Arab society. There is more than a kernel of truth in
this paradigm of Muslim-Jewish relations in medieval Spain, and its
parallels in other parts of the Islamic world.=20

=20

This idyllic model, however, glosses over the inferior legal and
religious status of Jews, and the occasional acts of oppression and
violence. There never was a time under Islam that Jews lived as complete
equals of Muslims, let alone that there was such an 'animal' as
interfaith utopia.=20

=20

Before the modern era, equality was not part of the religious vocabulary
of Islam, or for that matter, of Christianity, or of Judaism. Disdain
for the non-conforming 'other' was standard practice among all three
monotheistic faiths. The fact is that Islam discriminated against both
Jews and Christians, as did Christians towards Jews in northern Europe.
To have acted otherwise, was a sign of weakness and lack of belief in
the superiority of your religion. After all, it was a virtue to
subjugate the inferior religions. Had not God himself rejected one
religion in favor of another one? To this question, both Christianity
and Islam shouted a mighty Amen! For Muslims the call to establish
religious order in the world meant protecting the world from Jewish and
Christian errors.

=20

To make a somewhat parallel point from a Jewish perspective: Medieval
Judaism did not believe in religious equality. The twelfth century
medieval philosopher Yehudah Halevi wrote a polemic, the Kuzari, in
which he argued for Judaism's superiority and eventual triumph over
Christianity and Islam. Halevi set up an imaginary debate between a
Jewish scholar-rabbi and the king of the Khazars who lived around the
Caspian Sea. In trying to decide which monotheistic religion to adopt,
the king called attention to the embarrassing point that the only reason
Jews were so tolerant of others was because, as a minority, they did not
possess the political power themselves to subjugate and persecute their
daughter religions. To which the Jewish scholar trying to defend Judaism
was forced to reply: Touche! You've got me on that one.=20

=20

=20

=20

To return to the point of tolerance and intolerance: Under Islam, Jews
and Christians were second-class subjects, at best. They were classed as
unbelievers, as infidels who did not recognize the prophethood of
Muhammad and the truth of the Koran. They held the status of dhimmis,
"protected people," meaning that in a positive sense both religions were
respected as "People of the Book." Jews and Christians were guaranteed
protection of property, freedom of religion, and the right of communal
autonomy. In return for these benefits they paid an annual head tax, and
maintained a 'low profile,' thereby acknowledging the superiority of
Islam. To be sure, there were periodic outbursts of violence; yet, and
this is critical to note, violence was almost always directed against
dhimmis as a category - meaning Jews and Christians - and not against
Jews per se.=20

=20

For all of the Koran's religious exclusivity and hostility towards Jews,
restrictive laws were frequently honored in the breach. In fact,
day-today documents discovered in the Cairo Geniza at the turn of the
twentieth century by Solomon Schechter can be traced back a thousand
years. These archives testify that Jews prospered as merchants,
physicians, retailers, craftsmen, even as farmers. They formed
partnerships with Muslims and even felt comfortable litigating before
Muslim religious judges.=20

=20

We witness similar scenes when we jump to the 20th century, in some
cases right up to the 1940s. There was a solid Jewish middle class
deeply embedded in Arab society and culture. Jews wholeheartedly
embraced Arabic and Islamic culture, in what was, if not an interfaith
utopia, an era of wide-ranging co-existence.

=20

So, if all was relatively good, what went so wrong? A good place to
begin is to understand how the Muslim world links the Jewish people to
Christendom and to Western civilization. For a very long time, from the
seventh until the eleventh century, Christian Europe was threatened by
Islam, and for good reason. Within a little more than a century from its
beginnings, Muslim armies conquered large swaths of Christian Europe:
the southern shores of the Mediterranean, Spain, Portugal, part of Italy
and threatened France. In Eastern Europe there came invasions of Muslim
Tatars and then the Ottoman Turks.

=20

Only in the eleventh century did Christendom begin to break the Muslim
pincer grip on Europe, and to recover the lost lands of Christendom. By
the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it was no longer Europe that
was caught in Muslim pincers, but the Islamic lands in the pincers of
Christian European expansion. By the early twentieth century, most of
the Muslim world had been incorporated into the four great European
empires of Russia, the Netherlands, Britain, and France. By the late
twentieth century American imperialism entered the picture; to wit,
America's occupation of Muslim Iraq and Muslim Afghanistan.

=20

To grasp the level of Muslim resentment against colonialism and
imperialism at the expense of Islamic pride, we need only refer to the
pronouncements of Osama bin Ladan shortly after the 9/11 obscenity. He
highlighted the "humiliation and disgrace" that Islam has suffered for
"more than eighty years." His reference to 'eighty years' sent American
officials scrambling to determine what exact date he had in mind. Bin
Ladin's Muslim listeners knew precisely to what he was making reference:
In 1918 the Muslim Ottoman empire of four hundred years collapsed like a
deck of cards. Its territory was subdivided among the foreign powers I
have just mentioned.=20

=20

From a wide-angle perspective, what we are witnessing today is not only
a clash of civilizations between Islam and the West which I will come
back to momentarily, but an explosive hostility of stored-up resentment
after years of domination and humiliation at the hands of what is seen,
from an Islamic perspective, as alien infiltration and infidel
penetration of Islamic lands.=20

=20

For the greater part of their history, Muslims were placed, by the
religious blessings of the Koran itself, in a position of supremacy and
domination. Beginning in the eleventh century and continuing to the
present, European Christendom's invasion of the heartlands of Islam
challenged this idyllic picture of how world history was supposed to
unfold. The resulting resentments have been building up for a long time,
particularly in the last fifty-sixty years. From a radical Islamic
viewpoint, the geographical location of the Zionist state near the
heartland of Saudi Arabia and the holy cities of Mecca and Medina is
identified as a cancer that must be surgically removed from the Muslim
body politic. Israel's creation has only added more fuel to an already
high level of Islamic-Arab frustration and resentment. How so?

=20

It may best be described as adding insult to injury. As if it were not
enough that foreign powers entered as colonizers, Israel's territorial
intrusion is a violation of classical Islamic belief, namely, that no
piece of land once added to the realm of Islam can ever be finally
renounced. (A Jewish equivalent, if you will, is the classical Jewish
sentiment that Jerusalem must forever remain the eternal capital of the
Jewish people.) Factor in as well, that Israel, and its Jewish
population are perceived - correctly in my opinion - as an appendage
and proxy of American interests and culture. To this then add a final
nail in this coffin of humiliation: Israel's ability to survive among
more than 300 million Muslim Arabs and its repeated military victories
over Arab armies.=20

=20

The thinker most responsible for calling attention to Muslim humiliation
and for inspiring much of contemporary radical Islam was Sayyid Qutb.
Before his execution in Egypt in 1966 on charges of treason and plans to
assassinate President Nasser, he wrote an unforgiving moral judgment
against America based on the two years he lived there from 1948-1950.
Written in the early 1950s, it is entitled, Our Struggle with the Jews.
The title itself suggests a disturbing Islamic echo of Hitler's Mein
Kampf, or My Struggle. Qutb gave new vigor to the idea that Israel's
establishment signaled a heavy blow to Muslim self-esteem. Israel's
resurrection exemplified how the Jews had dared to break free from their
God-placed second-class status as dhimmis, and the God-placed
straitjacket of social and political discrimination. Qutb strengthened
his case with reference to the infamous Russian early twentieth century
forgery, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, with its scenario of a
Jewish plot to seize control of the Gentile world. Today Muslim
conspiracy theories about Israel are quite imaginative: For example,
Israel sells hormonally altered fruit to kill Arab men's sperm, and
supplies aphrodisiac chewing gum to women in order to stimulate lust and
destroy Muslim morality.

=20

Our first working explanation then of Islamic anti-Semitism is to place
it within the broad context of Muslim humiliation, the feeling of a
community of people accustomed to regard themselves historically, as the
sole custodian's of God's truth. Suddenly they find themselves dominated
and exploited by Christian and Jewish infidels.=20

=20

A second core feature of Islamic anti-Semitism is what Bernard Lewis
labels the sins of Western materialism and moral degeneracy. Here too,
Israel, as an ally of America, is a copycat of her American
'sugar-daddy'. Once more Qutb added his two cents worth: he witnessed
the world's sympathy for the Jewish state created in the aftermath of
the Holocaust. Ironically, such sympathy stood in sharp contrast to the
wartime relationship between the Third Reich and prominent Arab leaders.
Qutb was shocked by the level of support in America for what he saw as a
Jewish onslaught on Islam, with Christian complicity.=20

=20

His critique of America knew no limits: The model American traits were
depravity and degeneracy. These sins threatened to infiltrate Muslim
life, infecting Islam itself with pagan values, in particular, the sin
of sexual promiscuity. This perception helps explain why Muslim
terrorists a half century later regard dance halls and nightclubs where
young men and women meet as legitimate targets.

=20

In contrast to Eastern forms of spirituality, Qutb described America as
a particularly venomous illustration of decadent materialism. Everything
in America, he wrote, even religion is measured in material terms. There
were many churches, but no real spiritual feeling. Churches operate like
businesses, competing for clients and for publicity, and using the same
methods as stores and theatres to attract customers. Success is measured
by size - bigness, numbers.

=20

A final feature of contemporary Islamic anti-Semitism is the Muslim
world's failure to fully embrace modernity, and its uncertainty about
the advantages of secularism. By secularism I mean the various 'isms':
liberalism, socialism, capitalism, even nationalism. This uncertainty
about secularism only has to be compared with the love affair with
modernity and secularism in Europe, America, Israel, and the rapidly
rising economies of the East.=20

=20

Economically, the statistics of Muslim countries reveal a civilization
running close to empty: A decade ago the combined gross domestic product
of all the Arab countries stood at just over $531 billion, less than
that of Spain. Today, the total non-oil exports of the entire Arab world
of 300 million add up to less than those of Finland, a country with only
five million people. In the 1990s the combined GNP of Jordan, Syria, and
Lebanon were considerably smaller than that of Israel alone.=20

=20

Intellectual openness and curiosity is another feature absent in the
Muslim world: A listing of book sales among twenty-seven countries,
beginning with the U.S. and ending with Vietnam, does not include a
single Muslim state. A 2002 UN report on Arab human development reveals
that the Arab world translates about 330 books annually, one fifth the
number that Greece translates. In the past twelve hundred years the
Muslim world has translated about 100,000 books; this is about the
number that Spain translates in one year.=20

=20

In the field of scientific research a study done twenty years ago showed
there were more than 466,000 scientists in the U.S., in first place. In
fifth place came China with 15,500 scientists, next Israel with 11,600
followed by Egypt with 3,700, Saudia Arabia with 1,900, Kuwait with
under 900 and Algeria with around 350. In the area of patents registered
in the U.S. between 1980-2000, Saudia Arabia registered 171; Egypt 77;
Kuwait 52; Syria 20; Jordan 15 and Israel 7,652. A final statistic: in
2003 China's Shangai Jiao Tong University published a list of the 500
best universities in the world, engaged primarily in scientific
research. The list did not include a single one of the more than 200
universities in Arab countries.=20

=20

Several weeks ago, for the record, the same Chinese university published
its findings for 2010: 4 Israeli universities were ranked among the top
150 universities around the world: the Hebrew University, the Weizmann
Institute of Science, the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, and
Tel Aviv University. By comparison four universities in Muslim countries
made the grade among the top 500 universities, two in Saudi Arabia, one
in Istanbul, and one in Teheran. (As a point of information and
comparison, U. of T. made the list at number twenty-seven and York
University was listed among the top 500 universities, world wide).=20

=20

In short, from a Western democratic outlook the move to modernity is not
going well in most parts of the Islamic world, with the exception of a
few countries like Indonesia, and until recently, Turkey. The Islamic
world it would seem is at a fateful crossroads: Two diagnoses compete
for domination, each with its own healing prescription. The first
targets the West as the source of illness: imperialists, infidels, and
their local dupes (e.g. Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Anwar Sadat, the Shah
of Iran). The troubles of the Muslim world, says this camp, are the
result not of insufficient modernization, but of excessive
modernization, and a betrayal of authentic Islamic values. The remedy:
to resume the eternal struggle against the Western infiltrators, to
abolish all laws and social borrowings from the West, and to return to a
pristine, pure Islam under God-given laws and traditions.=20

=20

The holy task of exporting this rejection of modernity flows directly
out of Saudi Arabia under the educational umbrella of Wahhabism (named
after a Saudi theologian from the eighteenth century). The teachers of
Wahhabism not only control the holy cities of Mecca and Medina, but also
have at their disposal immense oil revenues. Around the world we know
them by other names: the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and the Taliban
in Afghanistan. Wahhabi indoctrination centers are often the only form
of Islamic education available to new converts and to Muslim parents who
wish to give their children some grounding in their own inherited
religion and culture. =20

=20

The second Muslim prescription for good social and political health
urges the Islamic world to replace its medieval insular garb -similar to
ultra-Orthodox Jewish ghetto life - with a willingness to experiment
with different forms of openness, freedom and above all, human rights
and religious pluralism. The super-duper question is: is it possible for
the Islamic peoples to evolve forms of government that will be
compatible with their own historical, cultural, and religious
traditions, and yet bring individual freedom and human rights to the
governed, as these terms are understood in the free societies of the
West? The future of the Arab world will depend, in no small measure, on
the outcome of this struggle between competing visions of Islam.

=20

How do we in the Jewish world fit into this puzzle, wherein we are seen
as geo-political pawns representing Western democratic interests, and as
religious thorns challenging Islamic hegemony? I would suggest three
attitudes

=20

First: we must learn the language of nuance - to distinguish between
radical, fundamentalist Islam and mainstream forms of Islam. Most
Muslims are not radical, and most radicals are not terrorists.
Were this
not so, we would no be able to make sense of the State of Israel's
having made peace with two Muslim countries, Egypt and Jordan. Many
modern Muslims while admitting to what they see as value-flaws in
Western society still desire nothing better than a closer and more
friendly relationship with the West, and the development of democratic
institutions in their own countries. Islam, as such, is not an enemy of
the West, to quote Professor Lewis.

=20

Second, we must exercise patience. It took three hundred and fifty years
for world Jewry - moving from Europe in the west to Russia in the east -
to weigh in on the benefits and risks of modernity, secularism and
liberal democracy; and even today the Jewish world lives with pockets
that strongly resist these trends, including Israel's own ultra-Orthodox
sector. In a word, there is no short-cut to education, and we should
expect no 'olympic-sprint-style' moves in the Muslim world.=20

=20

Finally, it behooves us to welcome Western-style Muslims who are
religiously tolerant, who respect human and civil rights, and who want
to engage in dialogue
. To be sure, they are not plentiful in number, but
they are present in our midst. Many of us will find reaching out to this
segment hard to do for reasons that, I would argue, have to do with
mistrust based, in large measure, on ignorance of Islam, and larges
doses of media-hype that certainly contributes to this mistrust.=20

=20

Even after my self-directed reading this summer, I do not yet have as
comfortable a grasp of Islam as I would like. There are many questions
to which I want more detailed answers. Of one thing I am sure: If I
remain stuck with a sharp, parochial, and one-dimensional negative
stereo-type of Muslims, akin to stereo-type images that radical Muslims
have of Jews and of Israel, then I will remain stunted, and will allow
my prejudices to rule over me. As a teacher, as a Jew and as a human
being who wishes to mature I know this is unhealthy.

=20

If I may join in the sentiments of the respected Israeli journalist
Yossi-Klein Halevi: the real war being fought isn't between secularism
and fundamentalism, but within religion itself, between those who insist
that one God means one way, and those who believe, as I do, that God is
vast enough to receive multiple paths; in short, a Creator generous
enough to accommodate more than one covenant.=20

=20

Let's be clear: Mainstream Islam has not bought into this formula of
religious humility in sufficient numbers. In a pluralistic, global world
the doctrine of 'dhimmis', of 'protected peoples' is an insult. In this
spirit,
I remind myself of the tortuous journey it took to arrive at a
respectful relationship between Jews and Christians. Who would have
thought this possible even a generation ago in the wake of the Shoah?
Who would have believed that Christendom was capable of reversing its
historic enmity? What made reconciliation possible? It took tremendous
soul-searching by Christians and the institutions of Christendom to
express genuine regret, and to want to turn over a new leaf. At the
heart of the exercise was a readiness by Christian theologians to
re-interpret, downgrade, or simply ignore New Testament teachings that
were blatantly anti-Semitic, or that cast Jews in a negative light. This
led, for example, to pouncing on New Testament texts that were ignored
or under-represented, such as the deep spiritual kinship of Jesus'
teachings with ancient Judaism. This Christian precedent proves that
religions are capable of adjusting their thoughts to new insights.

=20

At the same time, on the Jewish side, over the past half century there
has been a genuine willingness by a variety of courageous Jewish groups
to open up frank dialogue with Christians, and, over time, to chart new
paths of co-existence and mutual respect while storing the past in our
collective memory banks.=20

=20

Can one even begin to imagine such a transformation happening globally
between Jews and Muslims, and between Israel and her Muslim neighbors?
Not any time soon. Yet, the long process of Muslim-Jewish reconciliation
has begun in small pockets around the world, including Jerusalem and New
York, where the controversy over the proposed Islamic Center and mosque
near Ground Zero has opened up communication and dialogue between
spiritual leaders of all three monotheistic faiths.=20

=20

Some day, well beyond the life time of most, if not all, of us in this
room, groups of Jews and Muslims will emulate the kind of
reconciliation and healing process that took far too long to emerge
between Jews and Christians. To think otherwise, will be to grant
victory to the forces of triumphalism, radicalism, theocracy and
mistrust that is, unfortunately, alive and well within all three
monotheistic religions; and mutual ignorance breeds suspicion and fear.
To wish Muslims and Islam away with a flippant hand wave is to pray for
sounds of silence, only to be interspersed with verbal and physical
abuse.
I do not wish to count myself among such worshippers. In fact,
we are currently exploring the idea of offering an introductory
mini-course on Islam here at Beth Tzedec, with a parallel introductory
mini-course on Judaism to be offered within the Toronto Muslim
community.=20

=20

I close with a nod of gratitude to Professor Bernard Lewis, from whom I
have learned the most about Islam these past few months: "Considering
the difficulties that Middle Eastern countries have inherited and the
problems they confront, the prospects for Middle Eastern democracy are
not good. But they are better than they have ever been before. The
peoples of the Middle East have the chance - if they can take it - to
make their own decisions and find their own solutions. No one else can
do it for them. For the first time in centuries, the choice is their
own."=20

=20

May it be so!

Shariah a Danger to US, Security Pros Sa

By: Bill Gertz

A panel of national security experts who worked under Republican and Democratic presidents is urging the Obama administration to abandon its stance that Islam is not linked to terrorism, arguing that radical Muslims are using Islamic law to subvert the United States.

In a report set for release today, the panel states that "it is vital to the national security of the United States, and to Western civilization at large, that we do what we can to empower Islam's authentic moderates and reformers."

The study group, sponsored by the conservative-oriented Center for Security Policy, says in its report that proponents of advancing Islamic law mark the "crucial fault line" in Islam's internal divisions separating truly moderate Muslims, like the late Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid, from the large portion of the world's 1 billion Muslims who advocate imposing what they call Shariah law throughout the world.

Mr. Wahid, who died in December, is a widely respected Muslim visionary who promoted pluralism in Indonesia, which has the world's largest population of Muslims.

According to the report, proponents of Shariah are "Muslim supremacists" waging "civilization jihad" along with the Islamist terrorists engaged in violent jihad, like al-Qaida.

The 19-member study group was led by retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence in the George W. Bush administration, and retired Army Lt. Gen. Harry E. Soyster, Defense Intelligence Agency director from 1988 to 1991.

Included in the team of former defense, law enforcement and intelligence officials were Clinton administration CIA Director R. James Woolsey and Andrew C. McCarthy, former assistant U.S. attorney in New York, a career counterterrorism prosecutor during the Clinton administration.

Frank Gaffney, director of the Center for Security Policy, said the Obama administration's policy is based on an incorrect assumption. The Team B report seeks to expose flaws in anti-terror programs, including the policy of not referring to al-Qaida and similar groups as "Islamist" to avoid offending Muslims, he said.

"What if it turns out that some of the people the Obama administration has been embracing are actually promoting the same totalitarian ideology and seditious agenda as al-Qaida, only they're doing it from White House Iftar dinners?" said Mr. Gaffney, referring to the daily meal eaten by Muslims to break their fast during Ramadan.

The group of experts was modeled after the official CIA Team B, whose 1976 contrary analysis said U.S. intelligence assessments had underestimated Soviet nuclear forces. That Team B report led to the military buildup under the Reagan administration.

John Brennan, deputy White House national security adviser for counterterrorism, told The Washington Times in June that he disagrees that "there is an Islamic dimension to terrorism."

The administration's policy of not using the word Islam and its derivatives to describe today's fundamentalist terrorists is aimed at "not according these individuals any religious legitimacy," he said.

A White House spokesman could not be reached for comment on the report or the administration's policy on political Islam.

Mr. Gaffney said the report concludes that U.S. government programs aimed at reaching out to Muslim groups that promote Shariah law "is not political correctness, it's submission."

The administration's failure to understand the Islamist nature of the terrorist threat is "inviting more violent jihad against this country," Mr. Gaffney said.

The report calls for a campaign against radical Islamists following the model used against communist ideology and activities during the Cold War, including infiltrating foreign-supported jihad groups by the FBI and other aggressive security measures.

"Today, the United States faces what is, if anything, an even more insidious ideological threat: the totalitarian socio-political doctrine that Islam calls Shariah," the report says.

"Though it certainly has spiritual elements, it would be a mistake to think of Shariah as a 'religious' code in the Western sense because it seeks to regulate all manner of behavior in the secular sphere — economic, social, military, legal, and political."

The Team B report calls for developing a counterstrategy to Islamist ideology, but notes that understanding the nature of the enemy is a critical first step.

"That cannot be done by following the failed strategy of fictionalizing the state of Islam in the vain hope that reality will, at some point, catch up to the benign fable," the report says. "Empowering the condign elements of Islam requires a candid assessment, which acknowledges the strength of Shariah — just as defeat of 20th century totalitarian ideologies required an acknowledgment of, and respect for, their malevolent capabilities."

The Shariah system is "totalitarian" and incompatible with the U.S. Constitution's guarantees of democratic lawmaking, freedom of conscience, individual liberty and freedom of expression, including the right to analyze and criticize Shariah law, the report states.

The report cites the 1991 document from the Muslim Brotherhood in North America describing a covert process of Islamic "settlement" in the United States. The plan is to carry out a "grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated," the document stated.

The Egyptian-origin Muslim Brotherhood is the most important entity promoting Islamic supremacism, the report says.

Republican and Democratic administrations failed to understand the ideological nature of the terrorist enemy, the report says, including its ultimate goal of reinstating a totalitarian Islamic caliphate with Shariah imposed globally.

e Eternal Flame of Muslim Outrage

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | Shhhhhhh, we're told. Don't protest the Ground Zero mosque. Don't burn a Koran. It'll imperil the troops. It'll inflame tensions. The "Muslim world" will "explode" if it does not get its way, warns sharia-peddling imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. Pardon my national security-threatening impudence, but when is the "Muslim world" not ready to "explode"?

At the risk of provoking the ever-volatile Religion of Perpetual Outrage, let us count the little-noticed and forgotten ways.

Just a few months ago in Kashmir, faithful Muslims rioted over what they thought was a mosque depicted on underwear sold by street vendors. The mob shut down businesses and clashed with police over the blasphemous skivvies. But it turned out there was no need for Allah's avengers to get their holy knickers in a bunch. The alleged mosque was actually a building resembling London's St. Paul's Cathedral. A Kashmiri law enforcement official later concluded the protests were "premeditated and organized to vitiate the atmosphere."

Indeed, art and graphics have an uncanny way of vitiating the Muslim world's atmosphere. In 1994, Muslims threatened German supermodel Claudia Schiffer with death after she wore a Karl Lagerfeld-designed dress printed with a saying from the Koran. In 1997, outraged Muslims forced Nike to recall 800,000 shoes because they claimed the company's "Air" logo looked like the Arabic script for "Allah." In 1998, another conflagration spread over Unilever's ice cream logo — which Muslims claimed looked like "Allah" if read upside-down and backward (can't recall what they said it resembled if you viewed it with 3D glasses).

Even more explosively, in 2002, an al-Qaida-linked jihadist cell plotted to blow up Bologna, Italy's Church of San Petronio because it displayed a 15th century fresco depicting Mohammed being tormented in the ninth circle of Hell. For years, Muslims had demanded that the art come down. Counterterrorism officials in Europe caught the would-be bombers on tape scouting out the church and exclaiming, "May Allah bring it all down. It will all come down."

That same year, Nigerian Muslims stabbed, bludgeoned or burned to death 200 people in protest of the Miss World beauty pageant — which they considered an affront to Allah. Contest organizers fled out of fear of inflaming further destruction. When Nigerian journalist Isioma Daniel joked that Mohammed would have approved of the pageant and that "in all honesty, he would probably have chosen a wife from among them," her newspaper rushed to print three retractions and apologies in a row. It didn't stop Muslim vigilantes from torching the newspaper's offices. A fatwa was issued on Daniel's life by a Nigerian official in the sharia-ruled state of Zamfara, who declared that "the blood of Isioma Daniel can be shed. It is abiding on all Muslims wherever they are to consider the killing of the writer as a religious duty." Daniel fled to Norway.

In 2005, British Muslims got all hot and bothered over a Burger King ice cream cone container whose swirly-texted label resembled, you guessed it, the Arabic script for "Allah." The restaurant chain yanked the product in a panic and prostrated itself before the Muslim world. But the fast-food dessert had already become a handy radical Islamic recruiting tool. Rashad Akhtar, a young British Muslim, told Harper's Magazine how the ice cream caper had inspired him: "Even though it means nothing to some people and may mean nothing to some Muslims in this country, this is my jihad. I'm not going to rest until I find the person who is responsible. I'm going to bring this country down."

In 2007, Muslims combusted again in Sudan after an infidel elementary school teacher innocently named a classroom teddy bear "Mohammed." Protesters chanted, "Kill her, kill her by firing squad!" and "No tolerance — execution!" She was arrested, jailed and faced 40 lashes for blasphemy before being freed after eight days. Not wanting to cause further inflammation, the teacher rushed to apologize: "I have great respect for the Islamic religion and would not knowingly offend anyone, and I am sorry if I caused any distress."

And who could forget the global Danish cartoon riots of 2006 (instigated by imams who toured Egypt stoking hysteria with faked anti-Islam comic strips)? From Afghanistan to Egypt to Lebanon to Libya, Pakistan, Turkey and in between, hundreds died under the pretext of protecting Mohammed from Western slight, and brave journalists who stood up to the madness were threatened with beheading. It wasn't really about the cartoons at all, of course. Little-remembered is the fact that Muslim bullies were attempting to pressure Denmark over the International Atomic Energy Agency's decision to report Iran to the UN Security Council for continuing with its nuclear research program. The chairmanship of the council was passing to Denmark at the time. Yes, it was just another in a long line of manufactured Muslim explosions that were, to borrow a useful phrase, "premeditated and organized to vitiate the atmosphere."

When everything from sneakers to stuffed animals to comics to frescos to beauty queens to fast-food packaging to undies serves as dry tinder for Allah's avengers, it's a grand farce to feign concern about the recruitment effect of a few burnt Korans in the hands of a two-bit attention-seeker in Florida. The eternal flame of Muslim outrage was lit a long, long time ago.

that if a fringe lunatic church numbering
about 50 members (probably all sharing the same DNA) perpetrates this
horrible Koran burning, the riots, the shedding of blood and the attacks
against U.S. soldiers, or even the U.S. which does not condone the book
burnings - would also be an indictment against the savage Islamic societies
that haven't an inkling about the notions for free speech, the freedom of
religion, and democracy. The book burnings here, if they occur, will be by
a small group of whackos with no clout or credibility. The riots and
bloodshed which it may prevoke in the Muslim world will reflect the
barbarity of a significant group, perhaps even a majority, within the Muslim
world.Don't burn the quran but what will violence say about Islam

Joys of Muslim Women
by Nonie Darwish-a Muslim woman

In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child, consummating the marriage by 9. The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy.

Even though a woman is abused, she can not obtain a divorce.
To prove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses.
Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an honor killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives 'at will' and the man does not have to say why he has beaten her.

The husband is permitted to have 4 wives and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion.

The Shariah Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman.

In the Western World ( America ) Muslim men are starting to demand Shariah Law so the wife can not obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her.
It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Shariah law.

By passing this on, enlightened American women may avoid becoming a slave under Shariah Law.
Ripping the West in Two
Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Shariah law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two.

She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law.

Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before immigrating to America in 1978, when she was eight years old. Her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel. He was a high-ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza.

When he died, he was considered a "shahid," a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society.

But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television.

In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping sharia law - what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries.

For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed. Westerners generally assume all religions encourage a respect for the dignity of each individual. Islamic law (Sharia) teaches that non-Muslims should be subjugated or killed in this world.

Peace and prosperity for one's children is not as important as assuring that Islamic law rules everywhere in the Middle East and eventually in the world.

While Westerners tend to think that all religions encourage some form of the golden rule, Sharia teaches two systems of ethics - one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims. Building on tribal practices of the seventh century, Sharia encourages the side of humanity that wants to take from and subjugate others.

While Westerners tend to think in terms of religious people developing a personal understanding of and relationship with God, Sharia advocates executing people who ask difficult questions that could be interpreted as criticism.

It's hard to imagine, that in this day and age, Islamic scholars agree that those who criticize Islam or choose to stop being Muslim should be executed. Sadly, while talk of an Islamic reformation is common and even assumed by many in the West, such murmurings in the Middle East are silenced through intimidation.

While Westerners are accustomed to an increase in religious tolerance over time, Darwish explains how petro dollars are being used to grow an extremely intolerant form of political Islam in her native Egypt and elsewhere.

In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in the U.S. to elect the President by themselves! Rest assured they will do so... You can look at how they have taken over several towns in the USA .. Dearborn Mich. is one... and there are others...

I think everyone in the U.S. should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

It is too bad that so many are disillusioned with life and Christianity to accept Muslims as peaceful.. some may be, but they have an army that is willing to shed blood in the name of Islam..the supposedly peaceful ones support the warriors with their finances and own kind of patriotism to their religion.

The Long History of Anti-Semitism in Muslim Lands - Robert Fulford (National Post - Canada)
One of the 2002 Bali bombers, Amrozi bin Nurhasin, on trial in an Indonesian courtroom and headed toward execution, shouted out the message he wanted his crime to convey: "Jews: Remember Khaibar. The army of Muhammad is coming back to defeat you."
This was his explanation of the murder of 202 people eight years ago. Of those who died, 88 were Australians, 38 Indonesians, 24 British. None were Jews. So what was Amrozi, a Java-born Indonesian, raving about?
Martin Gilbert, the author of some 80 books, including the official biography of Winston Churchill, explains Amrozi's meaning at the start of his alarming chronicle, In Ishmael's House: A History of Jews in Muslim Lands, published this week.
Amrozi was remembering an event 1,375 years in the past, when Muhammad attacked Jewish farmers living in the oasis community of Khaibar, in what is now Saudi Arabia. More than 600 Jews were killed and the survivors lost all their property and had to pledge half of their future crops to Muhammad.
In the 20th century, Arab hostility to Jews took an ugly turn. Some claim that the new state of Israel "caused" the trouble. But well before Israel's creation in 1948, Arabs were identifying Jews as enemies.
In 1910, in the now-Iranian city of Shiraz, mobs robbed and destroyed 5,000 Jewish homes, with the encouragement of soldiers. In 1922, in Yemen, an old decree permitting the forcible conversion of Jewish orphans to Islam was reintroduced.
The number of Jews displaced by the Arabs in the 20th century roughly equals the number of Palestinians displaced by Israel. But the plight of the Palestinians has received several hundred times as much publicity. One reason is the constant propaganda from Muslim states and their admirers in the West. Another is that many Jews, unlike Palestinians, don't want to be called refugees.

Two Men on United Flight from Chicago Arrested on 'Preparation of a Terrorist Attack' in Amsterdam - Richard Esposito, Christine Brouwer and Brian Ross (ABC News)
Two men taken off a Chicago-to-Amsterdam United Airlines flight in the Netherlands have been charged by Dutch police with "preparation of a terrorist attack," according to U.S. law enforcement officials.
U.S. officials said the two appeared to be travelling with what were termed "mock bombs" in their luggage. "This was almost certainly a dry run, a test," said one senior law enforcement official.
The men were identified as Ahmed Mohamed Nasser al Soofi, of Detroit, MI, and Hezem al Murisi from Yemen.

They have their issues too

Assalamu alaikum

An Imam friend of mine was doing what any good parent would do: =
conducting a background check on a potential spouse for his daughter.

The prospect-in-question was a young Muslim I had met. I had a positive =
impression of him overall. So when my Imam friend asked me to find out =
more about his character, I wasted no time trying to get the necessary =
information. What I found stunned me: I discovered that this young =
Muslim consumed alcohol.

Today, coming across that kind of information no longer shocks me.

a.. A whopping 47 percent of Muslim youth on college campuses drink =
alcohol.=20
b.. About one-third of Muslim American youth end up using non-Muslim =
names.=20
c.. Only an estimated five percent of Muslim American youth attend =
Masjids or an Islamic school.=20
It is not easy being a young Muslim in America today when the media is =
hammering Islam all day long.

Young Muslims crave a sense of purpose, identity, and acceptance for who =
they are. These are difficult to find in an age when being a Muslim is =
considered a liability. Easily accessible Islamic information and =
material that appeals to youth, answers their questions, acknowledges =
their struggles, and offers the guidance on how to stay strong as a =
Muslim in America, is critical to their success.

The current debate over the roots of Islamist revolution, clashes in the Middle East, and conflicts between forces in that region and the West involves two critical issues of interpretation:

First, is there a threat to the West from groups whose members are Muslims or does the fault arise from Western policies and shortcomings which, if altered, would make any conflict disappear?

Second, if there is a threat does it stem from Islam as religion or Islamism as political philosophy?

It is important to understand that revolutionary Islamists do draw on mainstream, accepted, and sacred Muslim texts. Their argument has the potential to be just as "legitimate" in believers' eyes as does the contrary view. At the same time, though, Islam as a religion is not the threat, even though it is the threat's source and rationale.

The best image to use in order to understand this situation is neither to see the car's driver (Islam) as inherently bad (as does the "Islam is the threat" camp) or inherently good but facing a would-be hijacker (the "Islam is a religion of peace" camp). A more accurate view is of a battle over the steering wheel by contenders who both have a claim to ownership. Both may be reckless drivers but the main danger is the Islamists, those who want to run us over and then drive the car and all its passengers over a cliff.

Islamism definitely draws on normative Islam and thus has wide appeal among Muslims. But, likewise, Islamism has many Muslim opponents who don't accept it as their version of Islam.

There are many who do not want to accept the "Islam is the problem" argument because to do so is depressing (billions of people are against us!) or because it conflicts with their ideological assumptions (one cannot criticize any religion, or at least one that is not your own), or because it can be ridiculously labeled as "racist" (one cannot criticize anyone who isn't wealthy or Western or "white.")

These are fallacious arguments. But they don't prove the "Islam is the problem" approach is correct, any more than do other fallacious arguments--that Islam is "really" a "religion of peace," or that there is no threat, or that the conflict's cause is Western sins-prove that revolutionary Islamism isn't a danger.

Those who deny the nature of the threat often argue that when "properly interpreted" Muslim texts are not "really" radical, violent, and seeking political hegemony. However, one must quickly add that those "proper interpretations" are distinctly minority ones today, even if they predominated forty years ago.

The fact that Muslim texts do give backing to revolutionary Islamists does not mean that all or even most Muslims think that way. What it does reveal, though, is that unless they are going to hear counter-arguments, receive strong leadership by fellow Muslims, or enjoy Western support for fighting revolutionary Islamism they are more likely to think that way over time.

Most Muslims, even today, are not revolutionary Islamists. But in recent decades the current has flowed in that direction. I remember distinctly when a text like the Muhammad Abd al-Salaam Faraj's book, The Neglected Obligation, calling for a revival of jihad, came out at the end of the 1970s, seemed so marginal. But the revolution in Iran took place in 1979. Then a small group of Egyptian jihadists assassinated President Anwar al-Sadat and launched a guerrilla war. Shortly thereafter, Faraj was captured and executed. Since then, Islamists have steadily gathered steam, despite an apparent decline in the late 1990s, and extended their power and support base.

The task of true moderate Muslims is to change the situation and make the moderate interpretations mainstream. They have a lot of work ahead of them and they are getting all too little support from the West.

Can they hope for success? Certainly. Christianity was an extremist religion in practice a thousand years ago and in some ways until a long time afterward. Of course, one can argue that its accepted texts are peace-oriented and that this religion's founder-in contrast to Muhammad-opposed violence and a theocratic government. In making such an "obvious" (and factually accurate) argument, however, one must keep in mind that centuries ago such things were not considered obvious at all.

One can expect in the future-probably far in the future-Islam would still have the same founding texts yet will have developed to the point where moderate Islam dominates. That process could take in the Muslim majority world anywhere between 50 to 400 years or so. It is not likely to happen in our lifetimes and it is dangerous to expect otherwise.

Yet that doesn't mean Islamism will triumph in the mean time. There are counter-identities and ideas among Muslims that block Islamism's victory. They include the following factors:

--Individuality. People have different priorities and psychologies. They often tend (though less often than people in the West think) to want a stable life having the highest possible living standard and most benefits for their children. We see this does not always work (parents cheering their children becoming suicide bombers) but often does.

One must be careful, though, about basing government policy on this assumption, thinking, for example, more prosperity in the Gaza Strip will make Hamas more moderate or lead to its overthrow. Even aside from the appeals of ideology or religious doctrine, a minority of militants can often persuade or intimidate a much larger body of people to follow them.

--Ethnic-communal identity. Many Muslims belong to a sub-community which usually attracts their main loyalty. For example, there are Muslims who are Kurds, Berbers, or members of other groups including tribes. Sunni and Shia identities can be important also, accommodating Islamism (Hizballah) or communal nationalism (Amal) even among the same group of Lebanese Shias. Druze, Alevis (Turkey), and Alawites (Syria) are members of groups differing from normative Islam (I'd call them non-Muslims) and have their own communal loyalties.

--Nationalism. This has been the most important competitor of Islam in the Middle East. Aside from communal nationalism (previous paragraph) there are two other types: loyalty to a transnational nation, namely Arab nationalism or patriotism to a nation-state. These can co-exist with a strong Muslim identity but one less likely to be Islamist.

The existence of Arab nationalism, plus the power of the regimes that wield it, is the main force blocking Islamist victory among most Middle Eastern Muslims. That is why the preservation of the current relatively moderate Arab regimes-despite all of their faults-is extremely important for Western interests.

--Alternative forms of Muslim identity. This includes Sufism, following more moderate clerical interpretations, or even the radical Islamic Wahabi creed within Saudi Arabia which supports that highly pious but not revolutionary Islamist state. Wahabism abroad is often indistinguishable from revolutionary Islamism while within Saudi Arabia it generally fights against the al-Qaida revolutionary forces.

--Conservative, traditional Islam, that is, Islam as practiced prior to the modern rise of Islamism and among Muslims who don't support revolutionary Islamism. This version of Islam has a quarrel with modernity. It sometimes supports terrorism, too.

But the important thing is that conservative, traditional Islam neither seeks thoroughgoing political revolution to impose its version of Islam on every aspect of the society nor advocates war on the West. For example, non-Islamist Islam may seek a society in which Islamic law is "a key source of legislation" along with Western-derived "secular" law, in contrast to the Islamist who wants Islamic law to be the "only source of legislation."

Conservative, traditional Islam is often state-sponsored in order to ensure its support for the regime and status quo. Sometimes these clerics-the Palestinian Authority, Egyptian clerics supporting anti-Western Sunni terrorists in Iraq-take positions on "foreign policy" close to that of the Islamists. For example, they endorse terrorism against foreign non-Muslims but not at home. Nevertheless, they are less threatening to the domestic status quo and region overall.

While those Islamists who actively use violence are the most dangerous, those with revolutionary goals are equally Islamist and a threat even if they are not using violence in the present. This, of course, refers to the Egyptian and Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood especially. It is important to understand that the fact that they aren't actively involved in violent revolution because of moderation but because they fear government repression. Their exact counterparts are Hamas and Hizballah, which are so radical and violent in their practice because they aren't afraid of their weak rivals, the Lebanese government and the Palestinian Authority respectively.

--Modernism. The basic acceptance of modern forms of belief and behavior often associated with the West. As Arab nationalism and nation-state patriotism is the main barrier to revolutionary Islamism in the Middle East, modernism plays that role among Muslims living in the West. The failure of Western societies to seek energetically an acculturation or assimilation along these lines is thus very dangerous and tends to put radical Islamists in control of the communities.

It is an interesting question to what extent "natural" factors, that is the day-to-day experience of living in a modern society with its good (freedom of thought, equality of women) and bad (drugs, alcohol, rampant sex) features is going to transform Muslim communities there. Again, one has to get the balance right. One thing that is clear, however, is that European state practices are inhibiting this process rather than helping it.

Focusing on Islamism as the threat teaches the central importance of allying with genuinely moderate Muslims whose lives and lifestyles are threatened by the radicals. This does not just mean the small number actively trying to "reform" Islam but also the much larger number who just want to be left alone, enjoy freedom, and participate in the benefits of modernity.

This analysis, then, demonstrates why it is important to show how Islamism is rooted in genuine mainstream Islam and is not merely some hijacking of a "religion of peace."

Equally, though, it is vital not to assume that because something can be found in authoritative Muslim texts this tells us that Islam is "inherently" radical. Only by comprehending this can we understand how radicalism may be fought effectively.

Both of these points are extraordinarily relevant. If one doesn't understand the first, disaster will come from passivity, wishful thinking, and actually strengthening revolutionary forces by mistaking them as moderate ones.

Yet if one doesn't understand the second-all the factors subverting radical Islamism despite its claim to be normative Islam-one won't know how to proceed strategically and tactically. An additional problem is that one will be written off as extremist by the dominant Western society. It is all right to be brave despite name-calling and delegitimization efforts if one is right, but doesn't make sense when the analysis itself is not so accurate or helpful.

In understanding this distinction, let's briefly consider the Netherlands as a useful example. There are five parties in the Netherlands somewhere between mildly left of center and conservative. In the last election they received 55 percent of the seats in parliament. Geert Wilders' party received 24 seats, about 30 percent of the center-right vote and about 16 percent of the overall vote. He has tended to focus on Islam as the problem.

The other four parties received about 40 percent of the total vote. All these parties have a serious critique of radical Islamism. The most liberal of them, Christian Union, put it in these words:

"Every Dutchman has the right to assembly, to religion and to express his opinion. But financial support of Dutch political, cultural and religious institutes from demonstrably non-free countries (such as Saudi-Arabia and Iran) is not permitted. It's allowed to protect a free society from the importation of bondage." It supported banning the burqa from public buildings, public transport, and schools.

Wilders is internationally famous, or notorious, but who has heard of Mark Rutte, leader of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy, the country's largest party? Yet if anyone is going to change the country's direction on immigration, Islamism, multi-culturalism, and a pro-Western, pro-Israel foreign policy it is going to be Rutte, not Wilders, since Wilders is considered, rightly or wrongly, too extreme to be in a government coalition.

One might take Wilders and Rutte as examples of the two sides of the debate analyzed above. Wilders is more consistent but lacks effectiveness in setting national policy. It can be argued that he widens the debate, making it possible for other parties to take a stronger stand and critiquing them when they go "soft." But he also offers a good target for demonizing the anti-Islamists and splitting the vote of those who want change.

The anti-Islam argument can mobilize a small number of courageous defectors from Islam and critics among Muslims, the anti-Islamism argument, however, can ally with millions of Muslims and governments in Muslim-majority countries.

If the Western establishment view would be that Islamism is a big threat and problem, this debate would be less relevant. In recent years, however, the official view of Western governments has moved toward saying that only al-Qaida is the threat and that Islamists can be won over. This is an extremely dangerous position that brands both the "Islam is the threat" and "Islamism is the threat" analyses as "Islamophobic" and dismisses them without serious consideration.

This approach is highly dangerous for Western interests, democracy, and even for the future of millions of Muslims who face death or tyranny at the hands of revolutionary Islamism.

There are real "Islamophobes" in the sense of people who are bigoted. But the number is far tinier than Politically Correct forces claim. "Islamophobia" is a stick used to intimidate anti-Islamism. At any rate, those who are motivated by an irrational hatred of Islam are not the main threat to Western civilization and interests today. That role is played by far more powerful forces that ignore real problems and unintentionally assist revolutionary Islamists at home or abroad.

The "anti-Islam" argument is neither accurate nor strategically useful. The "Islam is a religion of peace and you can't criticize even radical Islamists" argument is neither accurate nor furthers the survival of Western interests and democracy. What is needed is an "anti-Islamism" approach that also works with moderate Islam, the best alternative in principle yet regrettably weak, and a conservative, traditional non-Islamist Islam, the most practical alternative at this point in history.

why doesn't the left protest violent Muslim extremism?

Pilar Rahola (above) is a Spanish politician, journalist and activist and
member of the far left. Her articles are published in Spain and throughout
some of the most important newspapers in Latin America. She writes:

Why don't we see demonstrations against Islamic dictatorships in London,
Paris, Barcelona?

Or demonstrations against the Burmese dictatorship?

Why aren't there demonstrations against the enslavement of millions of women
who live without any legal protection?

Why aren't there demonstrations against the use of children as human bombs
where there is conflict with Islam?

Why has there been no leadership in support of the victims of Islamic
dictatorship in Sudan?

Why is there never any outrage against the acts of terrorism committed
against Israel?

Why is there no outcry by the European left against Islamic fanaticism?

Why don't they defend Israel's right to exist?

Why confuse support of the Palestinian cause with the defense of Palestinian
terrorism?

And finally, the million dollar question:Why is the left in Europe and
around the world obsessed with the two most solid democracies, the United
States and Israel, and not with the worst dictatorships on the planet? The
two most solid democracies, which have suffered the bloodiest attacks of
terrorism, and the left doesn't care.

And then, to the concept of freedom. In every pro Palestinian European forum
I hear the left yelling with fervor: "We want freedom for the people!"

Not true. They are never concerned with freedom for the people of Syria or
Yemen or Iran or Sudan, or other such nations. And they are never pr
eoccupied when Hammas destroys freedom for the Palestinians. They are only
concerned with using the concept of Palestinian freedom as a weapon against
Israeli freedom. The resulting consequence of these ideological pathologies
is the manipulation of the press.

The international press does major damage when reporting on the question of
the Israeli-Palestinian issue. On this topic they don't inform, they
propagandize.

When reporting about Israel the majority of journalists forget the reporter
code of ethics. And so, any Israeli act of self-defense becomes a massacre,
and any confrontation, genocide. So many stupid things have been written
about Israel, that there aren't any accusations left to level against her.

At the same time, this press never discusses Syrian and Iranian interference
in propagating violence against Israel; the indoctrination of children and
the corruption of the Palestinians. And when reporting about victims, every
Palestinian casualty is reported as tragedy and every Israeli victim is
camouflaged, hidden or reported about with disdain.

And let me add on the topic of the Spanish left. Many are the examples that
illustrate the anti-Americanism and anti-Israeli sentiments that define the
Spanish left. For example, one of the leftist parties in-Spain has just
expelled one of its members for creating a pro-Israel website. I quote from
the expulsion document: "Our friends are the people of Iran, Libya and
Venezuela, oppressed by imperialism, and not a Nazi state like Israel."

In another example, the socialist mayor of Campozuelos changed Shoah Day,
commemorating the victims of the Holocaust, with Palestinian Nabka Day,
which mourns the establishment of the State of Israel, thus showing contempt
for the six million European Jews murdered in the Holocaust.

Or in my native city of Barcelona, the city council decided to commemorate
the 60th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel, by having a
week of solidarity wit h the Palestinian people. Thus, they invited Leila
Khaled, a noted terrorist from the 70's and current leader of the Popular
Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a terrorist organization so described
by the European Union, which promotes the use of bombs against Israel.

This politically correct way of thinking has even polluted the speeches of
president Zapatero. His foreign policy falls within the lunatic left, and on
issues of the Middle East he is unequivocally pro Arab. I can assure you
that in private, Zapatero places on Israel the blame for the conflict in the
Middle East, and the policies of foreign minister Moratinos reflect this.
The fact that Zapatero chose to wear a kafiah in the midst of the Lebanon
conflict is no coincidence; it's a symbol.

Spain has suffered the worst terrorist attack in Europe and it is in the
crosshairs of every Islamic terrorist organization. As I wrote before, they
kill us with cell phones hooked to satellites connected to the Middle Ages.
An yet the Spanish left is the most anti Israeli in the world.

And then it says it is anti Israeli because of solidarity. This is the
madness I want to denounce in this conference.

Conclusion:

I am not Jewish. Ideologically I am left and by profession a journalist. Why
am I not anti Israeli like my colleagues? Because as a non-Jew I have the
historical responsibility to fight against Jewish hatred and currently
against the hatred for their historic homeland, Israel. To fight against
anti-Semitism is not the duty of the Jews, it is the duty of the non-Jews.

As a journalist it is my duty to search for the truth beyond prejudice, lies
and manipulations. The truth about Israel is not told. As a person from the
left who loves progress, I am obligated to defend liberty, culture, civic
education for children, coexistence and the laws that the Tablets of the
Covenant ma de into universal principles.

Principles that Islamic fundamentalism systematically destroys. That is to
say that as a non-Jew, journalist and lefty I have a triple moral duty with
Israel, because if Israel is destroyed, liberty, modernity and culture will
be destroyed too.

The struggle of Israel, even if the world doesn't want to accept it, is the
struggle of the world.

Mosque

1. I find no legal basis for denying the construction of the Mosque (not
that I'm a lawyer), yet I find it an anathema. We can whitewash their intentions any way we want to, but I see this as an attempt to hail "The Mosque Triumphant". By building this Mosque in this location, they are thumbing their nose at the family of victims and tearing open wounds that haveyet to heal.

2. It is probably their right to build the Mosque, but it is also OUR right, and the right of anyone offended by this affront to protest its construction with vigor. By insisting to build the mosqe DAVKA there, they have to be foolish not to see the backlash. But using the liberal values that make for a democracy (which is wonderful), they probably will win. I would be very surprised NOT to see this Mosque built, and I would not be surprised to see the dedication on the anniversary of 9/11 - to rub salt into our wounds.

3. I am growing tired of the analogies between the proposed Mosque and the Carmelite Nuns memorial at Auschwitz. That's because when the they established the memorial at Auschwitz, no matter how distateful it was, Nazism was no longer a threat, and the entire sane world recognized the evil of Nazism and the concentration camps. As some "supposedly" peace loving Muslims attempt to build a monument to the power of Jihad in the shadow ofthe WTC, they have a sizeable minority of their co-religionists who cons=
pire every day to murder Americans and Israelis, and who work around the
world to bring Sharia law wherever they put down their stakes. This is far wose than the Auschitz convent. No matter how ill advised and symbolically obscene, the Carmelite nuns were memorializing their dead, and Nazism
was already defeated. Here, Muslims are, to the best of my knowledge, building this Mosquetrocity with Saudi/Wahabi money, which has built most of the U.S. Mosques since 9/11. This mosque is brought to us by the same people that sponsored 9/11. Even if you assume that the vast majority of Moslems are peace loving (I think they love peace under THEIR terms, and our Dhimmitude), can't you see that the erection of this Mosque at the proposed location will embolden the Islamists? I see Radical Islam as an ideology at least as dangerous as Nazism, for we're not just dealing with a toxic and hateful ideology - we're dealing with an ideology whose adherents really don't even care about their own lives and who routinely send their children to die. They have no boundaries and lionize death by Jihad.

4. The Radical Moslems are exploiting our liberal policies and freedoms hoping to kill us. The "silent majority" (of peace loving Moslems, if they
are indeed a minority), are conspicuously silent - like the German masses followed Hitler. What will it take before those who wear blinders to the threats of Islam as it it practiced and preached today realize that we
are dealing with a malevolent threat to our very lives? Are we going to wait until we need "Decoy Jews" in the streets of Detroit, New York, L.A.,
Phoenix and elsewhere before we wake up to the political and religious cancer which is spreading unchecked?

Muslim worldwide domination

As Bassam Tibi, a world class Islamic scholar,
has written, the goal of radical Islam is the attainment of hukumat
Allah, the sovereignty of Allah over the entire world. The methods by
which that goal can legitimately be attained by faithful Muslims, should
infidels refused to accept Islam, are horrible in extreme. The killing
yesterday of ten medical aid workers yesterday is but one example. The
attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon is another, as is the
objective of killing all Jews expressed in the Charter of Hamas.
But some will say, this is the work of the radicals, not ordinary
Muslims. There are two problems: (a) because Muslims are religiously
enjoined to use taqiyyah (deceit and dissimulation) in their dealings
with infidels, we do not always know who the radicals are and (b) we do
not know how many Muslims derive satisfaction from the damage inflicted on the infidels by the radicals. Read one or two books on radical Islam. A good place to start would be Bassam Tibi's book, The Challenge of Fundamentalism: Political Islam and the New World Disorder (Berkeley: Univ of California Press, 2002). After that, he might look into Andrew Bostom's ork, The Legacy of Islamic Anti-Semitism.

9/11 site Mosque?

Few, if any, attempts to enlarge the Muslim presence in the United States
are as outrageous as the proposal to build Cordoba House, a 13 story, $100
million Islamic educational and cultural center with a mosque at its core,
in close proximity to Ground Zero. Approval of the project by public
officials, including Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York State Attorney
General Andrew Cuomo, can only be characterized as liberalism gone insane.
Muslims have the right to build mosques to meet their religious needs, but
there are or should be zoning laws that can decide whether Ground Zero is an
appropriate site for such a project. It stretches the limits of credibility
to the breaking point to believe that the leaders of the Cordoba House
project were ignorant of the fact that their choice of site was bound to
bring lasting anguish and heartache, not only today but for years to come,
to hundreds of thousands of Americans. They could have chosen other, less
divisive sites, but no site elsewhere in Manhattan, would have suited their
purposes. It's one thing to build a mosque; it's quite another to build it
at the site of 9/11.

Indeed, public officials like Bloomberg and Cuomo ought to pay heed to Osama
bin Laden's essay, "Moderate Islam is a Prostration to the West," in which
he chastised a group of Saudi scholars who had declared in a communication
with American scholars that "many in Islam the Islamic world" regard the
September 11 attacks as "neither legitimate nor welcome, due to all the
values, principles, and moral standards that we have learned from Islam."
Bin Laden commented "This is the furthest from the truth. Indeed, happiness
and joy have not entered many Muslim homes in decades as it did after what
befell the Crusaders, thanks to these blessed strikes-and we implore Allah
for more like them." At least in this instance, it is Osama Bin Laden who
speaks the truth. (Raymond Ibrahim, The Al Qaeda Reader, p. 49). The 9/11
attack was not a case of 19 Muslims and the Al Qaeda planners hijacking "a
great religion," as President George W. Bush claimed on October 2, 2002. On
the contrary, the nineteen willingly died in the most destructive act of
jihad ever perpetrated against Americans on American soil.

Building a mosque at ground zero will be understood in much of the Muslim
world as the victorious culmination of the events of 9/11.
Istanbul had what was
originally the great cathedral of Hagia Sophia constructed by order of the
Emperor Justinian between 532 and 537 and for almost 1,000 years the largest
cathedral structure in the world. Just as the Christians transformed the
Mezquita de Cordoba into a Cathedral upon reconquering the city, so the
Muslims transformed Hagia Sophia into a mosque when they conquered
Constantinople. It is now a museum.

Building or transforming a major religious edifice was always (or as in the
case of the Jerusalem Temple destruction by the conqueror) a celebration of
victory. That is why the building of a Mosque at Ground Zero is such an
utter disaster. Among those Muslims committed to violence against the West,
it will be celebrated as a powerful expression of Muslim triumph over the
infidel. It will elicit not only their contempt but also the contempt of
large numbers of non-violent Muslims. This alleged act of tolerance will
gain neither the respect nor the friendship of those who see America as a
land of unbelievers.

A word about Cordoba. Under even the most tolerant Islamic rule, it was
never a place where Jews and Christians enjoyed equality with Muslims. Jews
and Christians were dhimmis, humiliated subject peoples. The subject is
explored comprehensively with great scholarship by Bat Ye'or, an Egyptian
Jew who has written four magisterial works on the subject, all of which are
available from Amazon. All of us know that with the Almohade conquest in
1148, Jews such as the family of Maimonides had to choose between
conversion, death, and exile. Even under the best of circumstance, Cordoba
was hardly an example of the kind of tolerant community described by the
Muslims who seek to construct Cordoba House.

This is about as bad as it gets. They will have their victory monument at
the very site of their attack.

Muslims vs Jews
If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more war.

It the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel.

The Jews are NOT promoting brain washing children in military training
camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims. The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants.
There is NOT one single Jew who has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew who protests by killing people.

The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.

Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.

Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them.

Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and the Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel 's part, the following two sentences really say it all:
'If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel. Benjamin Netanyahu

General Eisenhower Warned Us
It is a matter of history that when the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect:

'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened'

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offends' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.
This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the, 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests who were 'murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated' while the German people looked the other way.

Now, more than ever, with Iran , among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

Adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The
Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat

Islam In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life. Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.
Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to
agitate for their religious privileges. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.

Here's how it works: As long as the Muslim population remains around or
under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as
a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the
case in:
United States -- Muslim 0.6%
Australia -- Muslim 1.5%
Canada -- Muslim 1.9%
China -- Muslim 1.8%
Italy -- Muslim 1.5%
Norway -- Muslim 1.8%

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytize from other ethnic minorities and
disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among
street gangs. This is happening in:
Denmark -- Muslim 2%
Germany -- Muslim 3.7%
United Kingdom -- Muslim 2.7%
Spain -- Muslim 4%
Thailand -- Muslim 4.6%

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their
percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the
introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing
food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves -- along with threats for failure to comply. This is occurring in:
France -- Muslim 8%
Philippines -- 5%
Sweden -- Muslim 5%
Switzerland -- Muslim 4.3%
The Netherlands -- Muslim 5.5%
Trinidad & Tobago -- Muslim 5.8%
At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to
rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The
ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.
When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase
lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are
already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam and results
in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam , with opposition to
Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam. Such tensions are seen daily,
particularly in Muslim sections in:
Guyana -- Muslim 10%
India -- Muslim 13.4%
Israel -- Muslim 16%
Kenya -- Muslim 10%
Russia -- Muslim 15%

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:
Ethiopia -- Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and
ongoing militia warfare, such as in:
Bosnia -- Muslim 40%
Chad -- Muslim 53.1%
Lebanon -- Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:
Albania -- Muslim 70%
Malaysia -- Muslim 60.4%
Qatar -- Muslim 77.5%
Sudan -- Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:
Bangladesh -- Muslim 83%
Egypt -- Muslim 90%
Gaza -- Muslim 98.7%
Indonesia -- Muslim 86.1%
Iran -- Muslim 98%
Iraq -- Muslim 97%
Jordan -- Muslim 92%
Morocco -- Muslim 98.7%
Pakistan -- Muslim 97%
Palestine -- Muslim 99%
Syria -- Muslim 90%
Tajikistan -- Muslim 90%
Turkey -- Muslim 99.8%
United Arab Emirates -- Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of 'Dar-es-Salaam' -- the Islamic House of Peace. Here there's supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the
Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:
Afghanistan -- Muslim 100%
Saudi Arabia -- Muslim 100%
Somalia -- Muslim 100%
Yemen -- Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.
Before I was nine, I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; the tribe against the world, and all of us against the infidel. -- Leon Uris, 'The Haj'
It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100%
Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in
ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by
Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are
no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate. Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

Understanding I
slam
Islam=E2=80=99s dichotomous division of the world into two realms, dar
al-Islam, literally. "the house of submission," i.e., submission to God,
the realm of Muslim dominance where theoretically justice and peace are
said to prevail and dar al-Harb, literally,"the house of war", the rest
of the world, which is characterized by heedlessness, disorder, internal
strife and unbelief. Muslims are under an unconditional religious
imperative to bring dar al-Harb into dar al-Islam, by dawa
(persuasion) if possible, by jihad, if not. According to Bassam Tibi, an
internationally recognized authority on Islam, while it is not possible
to reconstruct a single Islamic ethic of war and peace from the
Qur=E2=80=99an, the dichotomous division of dar al-Islam and dar al-Harb
is the basis for all Islamic concepts of war and peace. For strict
Muslims, there can be no neutral domain that is neither dar al-Islam nor
dar al-Harb. Since dar al-Harb constitutes ipso facto a challenge, if
not a threat, to Islam understood as the only true religion, Muslims are
under an unconditional obligation to undertake jihad against its
inhabitants. Of greatest offense to Muslims is the seizure and
occupation of a territory that had once been a part of Islam and is now
occupied by infidels. That is why some Muslims talk of the imperative of
retaking al-Andalus, (the Iberian peninsula) as well as the land of
Israel. The elaboration of this position can be seen in the Charter of
Hamas which is a religious document in spite of the hatred that
permeates it. A reliable translation has been made available by the
Avalon Project of the Yale Law School. It is available at
http://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp . All rabbis, if not
all intelligent citizens, should read that document.

I'm tired

of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I
can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives
and daughters for their family "honor";

of Muslims rioting over some slight offense;

of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers";

of Muslims burning schools for girls;

of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery";

of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls - all in the name
of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

The error of the Boston Rabbi signers
Since so many of the mosques are radicalized, there
is a growing threat here in the U.S. if they go unchecked. If we do nothing, cities in our own United States will begin to look like London (which is infested with Radical Islamists), and before long some cities could
look like suburbs of Paris or Malmo, Sweden, where there are Islamist riots and Jews fear for their lives.

The goal should be to seek out the moderates in th Muslim community in the hopes that they will help reform their Mosques
to be more open and tolerant. Unfortunately, the real "moderates" are such a small,
It seems from Jacob's original article that Gurvis was given all of the facts regarding the radical Muslim cleric who it seems supports and encourages terrorism (as do many Imams in our "friendly" neighborhood mosques. He chose either to ignore the facts or to go ahead and to "build bridges" . I am of the opinion that while it is worthwhile to build bridges with people who seek peace, it is foolhearty at best to seek peace with those who are still plotting to kill you. Therefore, one might say that he is building a "bridge to nowhere." As Islamists recognize the openness of American Society and take full advantage of our freedo
ms towards their goal of creating Sharia law worldwide while subjugating
women people of other faiths, we should not be complicit as they try to wrap their tentacles around us.

Could Jacobs have been more subtle in his criticism of Gurvis? I suppose
so. But I fear that when scores of rabbis and rabbinical students write condemnation of Jacobs (of the David Project, CAMERA, and other wonderful
pro-Israel organizations) without refuting any of the proof that he offer
s against the Boston Imam, then it is very easy to get the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that these rabbis find common cause with the allies of=
Islamists rather than with the forces which try to combat Islamism. (I wonder how many of those who signed this letter would agree with the recent Supreme Court decision not to allow contributions to known terrorist organizations for "humanitarian purposes" - My guess is that MOST of them would agree with the minority - Breyer, Ginsburg, and Sotomayor. In theory, I can identify with the minority opinion because of first amendment concerns, but the overriding concern that I have in KNOWING that contributing to terrorist organizations even for humanitarian efforts frees up funds to kill innocent men, women and children. Therefore I applaud the majority opinion. I err on the side of saving lives.)

Building dangerous mosques in the US
There is no doubt that according to American Law these mosques can be
built. The only issue is what will be taught and encouraged in them. Many will
be preaching the establishment of Shariyah law and hate towards Israel, Jews
and probably Christians as well. They will either be stopped under 'hate
speech' laws or they won't be stopped and violence will ensue from them
resulting in a mini-civil war which will break out in America.
It's a simple
situation - stop them now or stop them later. Stop them now means to listen
to their sermons (no need to bug - the places are open to all) and
prosecute them on laws that prevent hate speech meant to incite and deport the
non-citizens who come to preach. Many will be peaceful and will focus on
non-political and non-Anti-American things and won't be a problem.
I was in LA this year at the shul with many Persians. They told me that
their fellow non-Jewish Iranians have stopped frequenting mosques because they
are so radicalized and preach anti-American sermons and they don't want to
be associated with such things.
We can fool ourselves into thinking that these mosques will all be just
fine examples of pluralism in America until we realize the truth - their goal
is to end pluralism in America.
If we wake up to it too late and have to fight it after violence ensues
then it will be much worse for the Moslems in America - most of whom don't
want to hear anti-American teachings and want to co-exist in a democratic
pluralistic country. They are the ones who need to stop any anti-American
activity in those mosques or they will suffer when the wrath of America comes
down on such hate speech. I hope they are successful and don't have to suffer
for what their co-religionists do in the name of radical Islam.

Gates: U.S. and Europe "Must Be Prepared for Iranian Missile Attack by 2020" - Michael Evans
The U.S. and Europe need to be protected by 2020 from a potential attack from Iran that could involve "scores or even hundreds of missiles," U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates warned Thursday as he defended a U.S. plan to deploy a new, advanced shipborne anti-missile system called SM3 Block 2B. What percentage of Muslims in the world support terror?
the quip about 800 million Muslim terrorists giving the other 400 million =
Muslims a bad name is from Dennis Miller. But it has been quantified with polls from around the world showing that the huge
numbers of Muslims may not personally be terrorists, but that they either support or "understand" the use of terror in the name of Jihad against
the U.S. or Israel. Steve Emerson, an expert on terrorism notes that the
majority of mosques in America are radicalized - which is not to say that
most of those who worship there are terrorists, but that their Imams are
mostly products of radical Madrassas, and they spew vile against the U.S
. and Israel. There have also been huge mosques built in the U.S. by our
good friends, the Saudis, the ones who brought us the carnage of 9/11. An
d what percentage of Moslems supporting terrorism is acceptable? 15%? 40%? How many Jews do you think support the brutal murders by Baruch Goldstein, Yemach Shemo? A fraction of one percent? Maybe. The same
would go for Christians who supported Timothy McVeigh, also Yemach Shemo

State Department: Syria a State Sponsor of International Terrorism for Thirty Years - James H. Anderson (Washington Times)

* The U.S. has designated Syria a sponsor of state terrorism for 30 straight years, as documented by the State Department's annual Country Reports on Terrorism, released April 30. No other state shares this distinction. Syria has never shown a willingness to relinquish terrorism as a core element of its statecraft, whether it is used to suppress political dissidents at home or further its regional ambitions.
* In addition to supplying Hizbullah with sophisticated weapons in Lebanon, Syria continues to permit Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and other terrorist groups to maintain offices in Damascus. The regime has a lengthy track record of allowing jihadists to transit Syrian territory en route to unleashing suicide attacks against American soldiers in Iraq. In recent years, Syria also increasingly has aligned itself with Iran, itself another longtime sponsor of state terrorism.
* The State Department's annual report serves as a useful reminder about the nature of the Syrian regime. Terrorism lies at the very core of the Assad regime. It is this harsh reality that makes well-intentioned efforts to engage Syria problematic in the absence of any compelling strategy to induce constructive behavioral changes.

Iran Named as Violator of Religious Freedom

A U.S. government panel named Iran and Saudi Arabia among 13 other countries as serious violators of religious freedom, the Associated Press reported. The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, established by Congress in 1998, aims to provide recommendations to policymakers for improving conditions. "The government of Iran continues to engage in systematic, ongoing, and egregious violations of religious freedom, including prolonged detention, torture, and executions based primarily or entirely upon the religion of the accused," the report states. Similarly, the report accuses Saudi Arabia of stifling religious expression, imprisoning religious dissenters and promoting an extremist ideology on a global scale.

Holocaust Survivor's View on Fanatic Islam

The author of this
email is Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a well-known and well respected
psychiatrist .
___________________________________

A Holocaust Survivor's View on Islam
A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned
a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German
people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude
toward fanaticism. 'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but
manyenjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to
care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of
fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen.
Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and
the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in
a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.'

We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam
is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just
want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true,
it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us
feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics
rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in
history. It is the fanatics who march... It is the fanatics who wage
any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who
systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa
and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave.
It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the
fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who
zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and
homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to
become suicide bombers.

The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the
'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in
peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of
about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant.
China's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists
managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a
warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across
South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic
murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel,
and bayonet.

And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not
be said that the majority of Rwandans were
'peace loving'?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our
powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of
points:

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.

Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up,
because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and
find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have
begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs,
Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many
others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until
it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must
pay attention to the only group that counts --
the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes
this email without sending it on is contributing to the passiveness
that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send
this on and on and on! Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read
this and think about it, and send it on - before it's too late.

Islamitization of Europe

Geert Wilders is a Dutch Member of Parliament.

*"America, the last man standing"*

'In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: who lost Europe ?'

[Here is the speech of Geert Wilders, Chairman, Party for Freedom, the
Netherlands , at the Four Seasons, New York , introducing an Alliance of
Patriots and announcing the Facing Jihad Conference in Jerusalem].

Dear friends,

Thank you very much for inviting me.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There
is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We
might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe . This not only
is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat
to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States as the
last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe .

First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe . Then, I will
say a few things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in
Jerusalem .

The Europe you know is changing.

You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes
a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It
is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.

All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighbourhoods
where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are,
they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of
head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby
strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you
prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The
shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find
any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious
fanatics. These are Muslim neighbourhoods, and they are mushrooming in
every city across Europe . These are the building-blocks for territorial
control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street,
neighbourhood by neighbourhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe . With larger
congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there
are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region.
Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam ,
Marseille and Malmo in Sweden . In many cities the majority of the under-18
population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim
neighbourhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many
cities.

In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned,
because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult
to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all
pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by
Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'. Satellite dishes
are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of
origin.

In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to
Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of
Darwin . The history of th e Holocaust can no longer be taught because of
Muslim sensitivity.

In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal
system. Many neighbourhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head
scarves. Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in
Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan.

Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of
anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the
streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya, Israel . I could go on forever with
stories like this. Stories about Islamization.

A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe . San Diego
University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the
population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis
has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the
Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few
signs of that. The Pew Research Centre reported that half of French Muslims
see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France . One-third
of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for
Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in
favour of a worldwide caliphate. Muslims demand what they call 'respect'. And
this is how we give them respect. We have Muslim official state holidays.

The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the
Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority. We have cabinet members with
passports from Morocco and Turkey .

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behaviour, ranging from petty
crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus
drivers, to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the
low-income suburbs, the banlieus. I call the perpetrators 'settlers'. Because
that is what they are. They do not come to integrate into our societies;
they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore, they
are settlers.

Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against
non-Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighbourhoods, their
cities, their countries. Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be
ignored.

The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet.
His behaviour is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized. Now,
if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother
Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a
warlord, a mass murderer, a paedophile, and had several marriages - at the
same time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had
his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed
himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. If it is good for
Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.

Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a
here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political
ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the
life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam
means 'submission'. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy,
because what it strives for is sharia. If you want to compare Islam to
anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all
totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force
in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has
wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the
aggressor. I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I
support Israel . First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two
thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz, second because it is
a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defence.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating
Islam's territorial advance. Israel is facing the front lines of jihad,
like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines, Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan,
Lebanon, and Aceh in Indonesia . Israel is simply in the way. The same way
West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war against Israel is not a war against Israel . It is a war against
the West. It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant
for all of us. If there would have been no Israel , Islamic imperialism
would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for
conquest. Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and
lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream,
unaware of the dangers looming.

Many in Europe argue in favour of abandoning Israel in order to address the
grievances of our Muslim minorities. But if Israel were, God forbid, to go
down, it would not bring any solace to the West. It would not mean our
Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behaviour, and accept
our values. On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous
encouragement to the forces of Islam. They would, and rightly so, see the
demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed. The end of
Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the
beginning. It would mean the start of the final battle for world
domination. If they can get Israel , they can get everything. So-called
journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a
'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'. In my country, the Netherlands , 60
percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the
number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60 percent sees
Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist
attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may
go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe means a
Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual
nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will
turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it
would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and
Jerusalem .

Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never
had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by
people who fought for it with their lives. All throughout Europe , American
cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose
memory we cherish. My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely
its custodians. We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe 's
children in the same state, in which it was offered to us. We cannot strike
a deal with mullahs and imams. Future generations would never forgive us. We
cannot squander our liberties. We simply do not have the right to do so. We
have to take the necessary action now to stop this Islamic stupidity from
destroying the free world, that we know.

Apartheid week-Muslim terrorist murderers complain about Israeli democracy

Prof Alan Dershowitz

*http://www.JewishWorldReview.com |* Every year at about this time, radical
Islamic students -- aided by radical anti-Israel professors -- hold an even=
t
they call "Israel Apartheid Week." During this week, they try to persuade
students on campuses around the world to demonize Israel as an apartheid
regime. Most students seem to ignore the rantings of these extremists, but
some naive students seem to take them seriously. Some pro-Israel and Jewish
students claim that they are intimidated when they try to respond to these
untruths. As one who strongly opposes any censorship, my solution is to
fight bad speech with good speech, lies with truth and educational
malpractice with real education.

Accordingly, I support a "Middle East Apartheid Education Week" to be held
at universities throughout the world. It would be based on the universally
accepted human rights principle of "the worst first." In other words, the
worst forms of apartheid being practiced by Middle East nations and entitie=
s
would be studied and exposed first. Then the apartheid practices of other
countries would be studied in order of their seriousness and impact on
vulnerable minorities.

Under this principle, the first country studied would be Saudi Arabia. That
tyrannical kingdom practices gender apartheid to an extreme, relegating
women to an extremely low status. Indeed, a prominent Saudi Imam recently
issued a fatwa declaring that anyone who advocates women working alongside
men or otherwise compromises with absolute gender apartheid is subject to
execution. The Saudis also practice apartheid based on sexual orientation,
executing and imprisoning gay and lesbian Saudis. Finally, Saudi Arabia
openly practices religious apartheid. It has special roads for "Muslims
only." It discriminates against Christians, refusing them the right to
practice their religion openly. And needless to say, it doesn't allow Jews
the right to live in Saudi Arabia, to own property or even (with limited
exceptions) to enter the country. Now that's apartheid with a vengeance.

The second entity on any apartheid list would be Hamas, which is the de
facto government of the Gaza Strip. Hamas too discriminates openly against
women, gays, Christians. It permits no dissent, no free speech, and no
freedom of religion.

Every single Middle East country practices these forms of apartheid to one
degree or another. Consider the most "liberal" and pro-American nation in
the area, namely Jordan. The Kingdom of Jordan, which the King himself
admits is not a democracy, has a law on its books forbidding Jews from
becoming citizens or owning land. Despite the efforts of its progressive
Queen, women are still de facto subordinate in virtually all aspects of
Jordanian life.

Iran, of course, practices no discrimination against gays, because its
President has assured us that there are no gays in Iran. In Pakistan, Sikhs
have been executed for refusing to convert to Islam, and throughout the
Middle East, honor killings of women are practiced, often with a wink and a
nod from the religious and secular authorities.

Every Muslim country in the Middle East has a single, established religion,
namely Islam, and makes no pretense of affording religious equality to
members of other faiths. That is a brief review of some, but certainly not
all, apartheid practices in the Middle East.

Now let's turn to Israel. The secular Jewish state of Israel recognizes
fully the rights of Christians and Muslims and prohibits any discrimination
based on religion (except against Conservative and Reform Jews, but that's
another story!) Muslim and Christian citizens of Israel (of which there are
more than a million) have the right to vote and have elected members of the
Knesset, some of whom even oppose Israel's right to exist. There is an Arab
member of the Supreme Court, an Arab member of the Cabinet and numerous
Israeli Arabs in important positions in businesses, universities and the
cultural life of the nation. A couple of years ago I attended a concert at
the Jerusalem YMCA at which Daniel Barrenboim conducted a mixed orchestra o=
f
Israeli and Palestinian musicians. There was a mixed audience of Israelis
and Palestinians, and the man sitting next to me was an Israeli Arab, who i=
s
the culture minister of the State of Israel. Can anyone imagine that kind o=
f
concert having taking place in apartheid South Africa, or in apartheid Saud=
i
Arabia?

There is complete freedom of dissent in Israel and it is practiced
vigorously by Muslims, Christians and Jews alike. And Israel is a vibrant
democracy.

What is true of Israel proper, including Israeli Arab areas, is not true of
the occupied territories. Israel ended its occupation of the Gaza several
years ago, only to be attacked by Hamas rockets. Israel maintains its
occupation of the West Bank only because the Palestinians walked away from =
a
generous offer of statehood on 97% of the West Bank, with its capital in
Jerusalem and with a $35 billion compensation package for refugees. Had it
accepted that offer by President Bill Clinton and Prime Minister Ehud Barak=
,
there would be a Palestinian state in the West Bank. There would be no
separation barrier. There would be no roads restricted to Israeli citizens
(Jews, Arabs and Christians.) And there would be no civilian settlements. I
have long opposed civilian settlements in the West Bank, as many, perhaps
most Israelis, do. But to call an occupation, which continues because of th=
e
refusal of the Palestinians to accept the two-state solution, "Apartheid" i=
s
to misuse that word. As those of us who fought in the actual struggle of
apartheid well understand, there is no comparison between what happened in
South Africa and what is now taking place on the West Bank. As Congressman
John Conyers, who helped found the congressional Black caucus, well put it:

"[Applying the word "Apartheid" to Israel] does not serve the cause of
peace, and the use of it against the Jewish people in particular, who have
been victims of the worst kind of discrimination, discrimination resulting
in death, is offensive and wrong."

The current "Israel Apartheid Week" on universities around the world, by
focusing only on the imperfections of the Middle East's sole democracy, is
carefully designed to cover up far more serious problems of real apartheid
in Arab and Muslim nations. The question is why do so many students identif=
y
with regimes that denigrate women, gays, non-Muslims, dissenters,
environmentalists and human rights advocates, while demonizing a democratic
regime that grants equal rights to women (the chief justice and speaker of
the Parliament of Israel are women), gays (there are openly gay generals in
the Israeli Army), non-Jews (Muslims and Christians serve in high positions
in Israel) and dissenters, (virtually all Israelis dissent about something)=
.
Israel has the best environmental record in the Middle East, it exports mor=
e
life saving medical technology than any country in the region and it has
sacrificed more for peace than any country in the Middle East. Yet on many
college campuses democratic, egalitarian Israel is a pariah, while sexist,
homophobic, anti-Semitic, terrorist Hamas is a champion. There is something
very wrong with this picture.

Apartheid week-Muslim terrorist murderers complain about Israeli democracy

"Apartheid Week," the annual event organized on college campuses in the United States, Canada and elsewhere by extreme anti-Israel groups, is now two weeks. This year it is being held March 1-14 and spreading to campuses all over the world.

It includes lectures and exhibits aimed at convincing students that Israel is a racist, colonial state. Participants are asked to sign a document opposing Zionism while supporting the creation of a state for Palestinian Authority Arabs. IAW activists on the Columbia campus are setting up "mock apartheid wall", meant to represent the West Bank security fence. In Seattle, activists from the Palestinian solidarity movement have planned to protest a concert by Israeli musician Idan Reichel, saying that Reichel and Israeli artists like him are contributing to "culture theft." IAW events will also be held at a school near you as well as in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

brutality towards girls

Jennifer Rubin - 04.09.2010 - 8:00 AM

Given the constant stream of stories of brutality toward girls and woman, some have come to recognize that the “Muslim World” that Obama courts so assiduously is a cesspool of misogynistic brutality in which every female — from little girls to old women — is a potential victim. Reports documenting the latest depravity are no longer greeted with disbelief or even shock by those who have come to appreciate the fate that awaits many a small Muslim girl whose “fathers … are the brokers of their misery, selling them to old men for . . . what? To pay off debts? To pare down the number of mouths to feed?” The latest comes from Yemen:

A 13-year-old Yemeni girl has died of injuries to her genitals four days after a family-arranged marriage, a human rights group said

The practice of marrying young girls is widespread in Yemen and has drawn the attention of international rights groups seeking to pressure the government to outlaw child marriages. Legislation that would make it illegal for those under the age of 17 to marry is in serious peril after strong opposition from some of Yemen’s most influential Islamic leaders.

As we learn with each of these incidents, the victims whose stories make the papers are not the exceptions but the rule — one enforced by clerics and courts:

More than a quarter of Yemen’s females marry before age 15, according to a report last year by the Social Affairs Ministry. Tribal custom also plays a role, including the belief that a young bride can be shaped into an obedient wife, bear more children and be kept away from temptation.

Last month, a group of the country’s highest Islamic authorities declared those supporting a ban on child marriages to be apostates.

A February 2009 law set the minimum age for marriage at 17, but it was repealed and sent back to parliament’s constitutional committee for review after some lawmakers called it un-Islamic. The committee is expected to make a final decision on the legislation this month. …

The issue of Yemen’s child brides got widespread attention three years ago when an 8-year-old girl boldly went by herself to a courtroom and demanded a judge dissolve her marriage to a man in his 30s. She eventually won a divorce, and legislators began looking at ways to curb the practice.

In September, a 12-year-old Yemeni child-bride died after struggling for three days in labor to give birth, a local human rights organization said.

Yemen once set 15 as the minimum age for marriage, but parliament annulled that law in the 1990s, saying parents should decide when a daughter marries.

Obama and his dutiful but largely mute secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, don’t spend much time on things like this. They are entirely absorbed with grave matters such as Jerusalem apartment permits and whether a peace can be imposed on the one democratic country in the Middle East in which women enjoy equal rights and the protection of the law. The Obami don’t spend much time on human rights at all these days — whether it is a student rotting in Evian prison or a 13-year-old girl who has bled to death, no doubt in excruciating agony. You see, it’s not so much the Muslim people who are receiving the attention of the Obami but rather their oppressors, with whom Obama imagines he can do business or get along in some fashion. If there is a more cynical and less hope-filled approach to the Middle East, I’m hard pressed to conjure it up

Cair a terrorist group

"Then CAIR sought to attack this book series. CAIR seems to be, according to legal documents and documented reports, a creation of the Muslim Brotherhood and a group many of whose officials have been prosecuted and convicted for involvement with terrorist groups. CAIR, then, is not a defense organization for Muslims but an advocacy organization for revolutionary Islamist groups.

That's important to note because its real agenda is to prevent any critique of Islamism, the ideology of those trying to overthrow every regime in the Arabic-speaking world and many more as well.

CAIR's approach makes clear its lack of understanding the fact that there exists a set of professional scholarly ethics and principles. And that those who have been trained in this system make a really sincere effort to be fair, accurate, and make arguments based on facts that can be documented. If errors are shown, they are fixed. "

Palestinian terrorists happy with Obama

The Palestinian Authority Walks Out of Talks with a Big Smile on Its Face

By Barry Rubin*

March 15, 2010

http://www.gloria-center.org/gloria/2010/03/palestinian-authority

In 1994, Israel asserted, and the PLO accepted, that construction would continue on existing Jewish settlements. For the next 15 years, negotiations were never stopped by that building.

In January 2009, the Palestinian Authority (PA) stopped negotiations because Hamas attacked Israel from the Gaza Strip and Israel defended itself. Of course, Hamas is also the PA's enemy and the PA would be delighted if Israel destroyed that group. But for public relations' purposes, the PA had to pretend inter-Palestinian solidarity.

Then came President Barack Obama who demanded a stop to all construction on settlements in 2009. Israel finally complied but announced that it would keep building in east Jerusalem. The United States accepted that arrangement and even highly praised Israel's policy as a major concession.

But the PA refused to return to negotiations. Why, because the construction offended it? No, because the PA's radical forces don't want to make a peace deal because they believe they can win total victory and destroy Israel. The more moderate forces are too weak to make a deal because of Hamas and their own radicals, though they also have some problems with mutual compromise.

In September 2009, Obama announced that within two months there would be full and final peace negotiations in Washington. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said "yes": PA leader Mahmoud Abbas said "no."

No Western media outlet said that the PA refusal to negotiate for-as of today-about 15 months shows that the PA doesn't want peace. Yet they had no hesitation about saying that Israel doesn't want peace (or at least maybe doesn't) because Israel announced the building of apartments on the basis of a policy it has followed for 16 years, without serious complaint for most of that time.

Abbas seized on the opportunity to declare that he wasn't going to negotiate. Is he indignant? Upset? Does he feel betrayed? No, he's delighted to have an excuse to do what he wants to do anyway: Not negotiate with Israel!

Just like the famous scene in the film Casablanca when the police inspector, Renault, who regularly gambles at Rick's Place decided to shut down the nightclub:

Rick: How can you close me down? On what grounds?
Renault: "I am shocked shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!"
The croupier comes out of the gambling room and up to Renault. He hands him a roll of bills. Croupier: "Your winnings, sir."
Renault: "Oh thank you very much. [He turns to the crowd] Everybody out at once!"

And so he gets to close down talks, keep his winnings, and blame it on Israel. While Abbas and the PA don't agree with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on much, they do agree on one point: They claim that the West is abandoning Israel so why should they not just wait for it either to be destroyed (in Ahmadinejad's case) or until the West gives the Palestinians a state on a silver platter with no concessions on their part (Abbas's case).

Just as Obama killed the chance for negotiations with his demand for a full freeze, he and Vice-President Joe Biden may have done so again for indirect talks. But isn't it Israel's fault in the latter case for a stupid bureaucratic case of bad timing? Absolutely, yes. Yet the U.S. handling of the issue turned an annoying problem into an even worse problem for itself.

[Note: U.S. officials are claiming that talks will still take place, saying that reports of Abbas walking out are untrue. I don't believe this but if so I will correct this article accordingly.]

Even those in the West who mistrust or hate Israel, or at least the current government, have created a monumental paradox for themselves. They say (wrongly, I should point out) that Israel (or Netanyahu) doesn't want to negotiate or make a deal. If so, however, why are they "punishing" Israel by letting negotiations be killed? One of the many knots one gets into if there's no understanding of Middle East politics and realities.

Don't say mazel tov on Turkey

How to Make Defeatism Look Good: Let's Give Up and Cheer the Islamists
By Barry Rubin*

March 12, 2010

http://www.gloria-center.org/gloria/2010/03/how-to-make-defeatism

I'm not going to bash or rant about a Newsweek article about Turkey by Owen Matthews-shocking and dangerous as it is--but rather talk about what is wrong and inaccurate about it. That article is part of a new wave of defeatism sweeping the West, though it still remains subordinate to the more ostensibly attractive idea that there is no real conflict or at least one easy to fix by Western concessions.

Here's the title: "The Army Is Beaten: Why the U.S. should hail the Islamists." Yes, we should thank the Islamists for taking over Turkey. But wait a minute! The ruling AK party says it isn't Islamist. Indeed, I have been viciously attacked by them in the Turkish media for saying so. Up until now the line--including that from the regime itself--has been that we shouldn't be afraid of them because they are really just democrats. But now some are willing to face the truth and still sugarcoat it.

Matthews writes:

"The political logic should be simple. The arrest of a shadowy group of generals for allegedly plotting a bloody coup should be a victory for justice. The end of military meddling in politics should be a victory for democracy. And greater democracy should make a country more liberal and more pro-European."

Each of these sentences makes a false assumption and must be examined a bit.

Sentence one: Arresting military officers is only a victory for justice if they are guilty. Why does the author assume they are guilty? In fact, the claims are ludicrous. That a group of officers created a 5000 page plan for a coup that involved attacking mosques and massive attacks on civilians. It is one of a series of such accusations for which no real evidence has been presented, in which a widely disparate group of people have been arrested as alleged conspirators when their sole connection is that they are critics of the government.

This is ridiculously gullible. It's like the famous sentence by a newsweekly magazine that even if the Hitler diaries were forgeries (they were) that would tell us a great deal about the history of the time. If in fact the arrests were trumped-up to tame the army so that the current regime can impose a dictatorship in practice it was not a victory for justice but for injustice. Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hizballah, and Islamists in general lie a lot (and a lot more than democratic government) so why should they be taken at their word, especially when any serious examination of evidence shows the truth.

Sentence two: Of course, in general, keeping the army out of politics is a victory for democracy, but that ignores the specific history of Turkey. The army has viewed itself and been accepted there as the guardian of democracy. This history is certainly imperfect but when the country has been sliding into anarchy in the past or fallen into the hand of those who threatened to destroy the republic, the army has stepped in briefly, gotten civilians to reorganize things on a stable basis, and quickly gone back into the barracks.

The Turkish army is not like those of the Third World which hunger for power, destroy democracy, and unleash corrupt and repressive regimes. On the other hand, this article--and many others--show ignorance about the actual shifts in Turkey.

For example, there is no awareness that the regime is seizing control of the media; that the party leader (which means the prime minister for the ruling party) simply picks candidates for parliament as he pleases; that the reforms have strengthened the prime minister's power and not parliamentary democracy; and that women are being forced out of high positions. Merely weakening the army doesn't mean more democracy when in almost every other respect there is less.

Sentence three: If indeed-as is the case-the regime is systematically cracking down on the free media and imposing its control over all the institutions. This is not leading to greater but to less democracy. There should be a lot more reporting on what's happening within the country instead of just repeating the regime's claims.

Indeed, the author states:

"And with the last major obstacle to the ruling AK Party's power gone, Turkey's conservative prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will be free to implement his vision of a more Islamic Turkey. More democracy, then, doesn't necessarily lead to more liberalism, either."

The assumption here is that this is what the Turkish people want. Yet it should be noted there are some big problems for that claim. Turkey's electoral system is so weighted that the AK has received near-monopoly control on the basis of a vote that in most parliamentary democracies would have produced a coalition government.

Moreover, many or most Turks who voted for the AK weren't doing so because they wanted Islamism-as public opinion surveys clearly show--but because they thought (mistakenly, even according to this author) that it was a mildly conservative party.

And finally, the AK is seizing control over institutions so as to be sure that it will never lose another election. It is destroying Turkish democracy, a point made rather obvious by a long list of such actions over non-military institutions like the civil service, courts, and media. The author-and many others-are simply taking the regime's word for it and ignoring what the government is actually doing.

The author concludes by saying: "It's also clear that Turkey under the AK Party will remain a Western ally, and NATO will remain Ankara's most important strategic partner."

Then, this unusually candid if wrong author explains:

"How do we know? The AK Party says so, and it has no real options. There's no rival alliance, not with Iran, the Arab world, or Russia, which could possibly rival the clout Turkey has, with the second-largest Army in NATO."

Of course, Turkey has options. And here is the option the regime has chosen: To keep as much as possible the Western alliances while the content of its policy favors radical Islamist forces.

Incidentally, this "no option" argument is the root of a huge amount of confusion in the Middle East. Supposedly, Iran has "no option" but to become moderate; Syria has "no option" but to dump Iran; the Palestinian Authority has "no option" but to make peace. Yet over and over again the local forces find an option that they are quite happy to pursue other than the one laid out for them by Western observers. They have their own view of the world, ideology, and goals (often the goal of the regime being to amass wealth and stay in power).

And one of the key factors in this process is that--rightly or wrongly--they think they are winning so why should they change course or make compromises? And certain other ideas are calculated into their list of options: soon Iran has nuclear weapons. And the divine being is on their side. And the West is weak, stupid, cowardly, and easily fooled.

Turkey is one of the main places they think they are winning, according to Syria and Iran.

Now of course, the Turkish government doesn't have to say: America stinks and we're pulling out of NATO. It can keep the benefits of these relationships, having their cake and eating it, too. But in practice Turkey is moving closer to Iran and Syria, with the leaders of both of these two countries openly pointing out that fact. The question is what does it mean for Turkey to be a Western ally in a practical sense? If it supports Iran, Syria, Hizballah, and Hamas, just how does Ankara function as a Western ally? It's meaningless.

So, the article concludes, "The world would be wise to side with the AK Party, not seek a return of the discredited generals." I'm not sure why the generals are supposed to be discredited by ludicrous accusations orchestrated by an anti-American (in practice) government which needs to destroy them. Rather, it is the current regime in Turkey that should be discredited.

Still, it's a pretty neat trick when a regime repressing Turkish democracy and increasingly siding with the enemies of the West can convince people in the West that this is a good thing.

Incidentally, the New York Times has only a slightly more nuanced editorial than the Matthews article. Among other things, it take at face value that the story about the military planning a coup was broken by a small "independent" newspaper in Turkey. Actually, that publication is a front from the regime and is most unreliable--a point one might expect the Times to have discovered. The story was part of the regime's strategy, not some journalitic scoop.

As the theme song to the television show "MASH" put it:

"The game of life is hard to play,
I'm going to lose it anyway,
The losin' card I'll someday lay;
So this is all I have to say...

"That suicide is painless...
And I can take or leave it if I please."

The Western world should reject playing that particular card as its strategy.

Apartheid week-Muslim terrorist murderers complain about Israeli democracy

Stand With Us has produced a booklet titled "Middle East Apartheid Today" to counter Apartheid Week criticism of Israel. The booklet describes the oppression of black citizens of South Africa under apartheid and compares it to the situation of women, homosexuals, religious minorities, and reformists in countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia. The booklet is available on the Stand With Us website.

The Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA )has also put materials online to assist those interested in countering anti-Israel rhetoric. Muslims taking over Europe

This Will Give You Cold Chills!

Geert Wilders is a Dutch Member of Parliament.

In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: Who lost Europe ?'
Here is the speech of Geert Wilders, Chairman, Party for Freedom, the Netherlands , at the Four Seasons, New York , introducing an Alliance of Patriots and announcing the Facing Jihad Conference in Jerusalem .

Dear friends,

Thank you very much for inviting me.

I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe.

First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe . Then, I will say a few things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem .

The Europe you know is changing.

You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration.

All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe . These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city.

There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe . With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly, the signal is: we rule.

Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam , Marseille and Malmo in Sweden . In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities.

In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims.

Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'whore, whore'. Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin.

In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin . The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity.

In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan.

Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya , Israel . I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization.

A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe . San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century.

Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France . One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate. Muslims demand what they call 'respect'. And this is how we give them respect. We have Muslim official state holidays.

The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority. We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey .

Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the banlieus. I call the perpetrators 'settlers'. Because that is what they are. They do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore, they are settlers.

Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighborhoods, their cities, their countries. Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored.

The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet. His behavior is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized. Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several marriages - at the same time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. If it is good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad.

Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means 'submission'. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia. If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies.

Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor. I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I support Israel . First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz, second because it is a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defense.

This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial advance. Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines , Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan , Lebanon , and Aceh in Indonesia . Israel is simply in the way. The same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War.

The war against Israel is not a war against Israel . It is a war against the West. It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us. If there would have been no Israel , Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest. Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming.

Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities. But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values. On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam. They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed. The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning. It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination. If they can get Israel , they can get everything. So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'. In my country, the Netherlands , 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and Jerusalem .

Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives. All throughout Europe , American cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish. My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians. We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe 's children in the same state in which it was offered to us. We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams. Future generations would never forgive us. We cannot squander our liberties. We simply do not have the right to do so.

We have to take the necessary action now to stop this Islamic stupidity from destroying the free world that we know.

Hamas Mass Murderer Mabhouh killed

Exodus says when someone comes to kill you, kill them first,

Wall Street Journal
There is no evidence it was Israel...Mabhouh ... rose to infamy in 1987 by abducting and killing two Israeli soldiers. He then went on to become a central figure in Hamas's fund-raising operations.

Later, Mabhouh became a key coordinator of Hamas-Iran cooperation. In this capacity he organized the shipment of weaponry and other sophisticated equipment to Gaza and arranged for Hamas fighters to be trained by the Revolutionary Guards at a facility outside of Tehran. It was in connection with his Iran operations that he was in Dubai last week.

Fatah are terrorists too

Fatah is not a moderate organization. They have fought a continuing war against Israel through the courts-both international courts and U.N bodies, and the court of public opinion. They honor the murderers of Jews, and never stop for a day with their media and mosque incitement.

Pipes to Obama Bomb Iran

How to Save the Obama Presidency: Bomb Iran

by Daniel Pipes
National Review Online
February 2, 2010

I do not customarily offer advice to a president whose election I opposed, whose goals I fear, and whose policies I work against. But here is an idea for Barack Obama to salvage his tottering administration by taking a step that protects the United States and its allies.

If Obama's personality, identity, and celebrity captivated a majority of the American electorate in 2008, those qualities proved ruefully deficient in 2009 for governing. He failed to deliver on employment and health care, he failed in foreign policy forays small (e.g., landing the 2016 Olympics) and large (relations with China and Japan). His counterterrorism record barely passes the laugh test.

This poor performance has caused an unprecedented collapse in the polls and the loss of three major by-elections, culminating two weeks ago in an astonishing senatorial defeat in Massachusetts. Obama's attempts to "reset" his presidency will likely fail if he focuses on economics, where he is just one of many players.

He needs a dramatic gesture to change the public perception of him as a lightweight, bumbling ideologue, preferably in an arena where the stakes are high, where he can take charge, and where he can trump expectations.

Barak Obama's job approval problem.

Such an opportunity does exist: Obama can give orders for the U.S. military to destroy the Iranian nuclear weapon capacity.

Circumstances are propitious. First, U.S. intelligence agencies have reversed their preposterous 2007 National Intelligence Estimate, the one that claimed with "high confidence" that Tehran had "halted its nuclear weapons program," No one (other than the Iranian rulers and their agents) denies that the regime is rushing headlong to build a large nuclear arsenal.

Second, if the apocalyptic-minded leaders in Tehran get the Bomb, they render the Middle East a yet more volatile and dangerous. They might deploy these weapons in the region, leading to massive death and destruction. Eventually, they could launch an electro-magnetic pulse attack on the United States, utterly devastating the country. By eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat, Obama protects the homeland and sends a message to American's friends and enemies.

Third, polling shows longstanding American backing for an attack on the Iranian nuclear infrastructure.

*

Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg, January 2006: 57 percent of Americans favor military intervention if Tehran pursues a program that could enable it to build nuclear arms.
*

Zogby International, October 2007: 52 percent of likely voters support a U.S. military strike to prevent Iran from building a nuclear weapon; 29 percent oppose such a step.
*

McLaughlin & Associates, May 2009: asked whether they would support "Using the [U.S.] military to attack and destroy the facilities in Iran which are necessary to produce a nuclear weapon," 58 percent of 600 likely voters supported the use of force and 30 percent opposed it.
*

Fox News, September 2009: asked "Do you support or oppose the United States taking military action to keep Iran from getting nuclear weapons?" 61 percent of 900 registered voters supported military action and 28 opposed it.
*

Pew Research Center, October 2009: asked which is more important, "To prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, even if it means taking military action" or "To avoid a military conflict with Iran, even if it means they may develop nuclear weapons," Out of 1,500 respondents, 61 percent favored the first reply and 24 percent the second.

The nuclear facility at Qum on Sep. 26,2009 from 423 miles in space, provided by GeoEye.
Not only does a strong majority – 57, 52, 58, 61, and 61 percent – already favor using force but after a strike Americans will presumably rally around the flag, jumping that number much higher.

Fourth, were the U.S. strike limited to taking out the Iranian nuclear facilities, and not aspire to regime change, it would require few "boots on the ground" and entail relatively few casualties, making an attack politically more palatable.

Just as 9/11 caused voters to forget George W. Bush's meandering early months, a strike on Iranian facilities would dispatch Obama's feckless first year down the memory hole and transform the domestic political scene. It would sideline health care, prompt Republicans to work with Democrats, make netroots squeal, independents reconsider, and conservatives swoon.

But the chance to do good and do well is fleeting. As the Iranians improve their defenses and approach weaponization, the window of opportunity is closing. The time to act is now or, on Obama's watch, the world will soon become a much more dangerous place.

Homegrown terrorism

From Commentary \

Ultimately, there is little more that the United States can do to prevent homegrown terrorism, other than maintain the counter-terrorism policies enacted by the Bush administration in the aftermath of 9/11, policies that proved so successful in preventing another terrorist attack on American soil. Given the rhetoric and actions of the present administration, which wants to shut down the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, prosecute CIA officers for using interrogation techniques disfavored by the American Civil Liberties Union, and generally approach the war on Islamic supremacism as a legalistic exercise, it is hardly certain that such a course will be followed. But the least we can ask of our nation’s political and intellectual elite is that they stop wailing about the phantom menace of “right-wing” terrorism and start paying more attention to the genuine article.
