Richard Naehr on Israel

A lot of travel lately, and more next week, so a few quick ones until late next week.

3. Ed Lasky compares two interviews with McCain and Obama on Israelhttp://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/05/contrasting_mccainobama_views.html
4. Jonathan Spyer on the emptiness of the Israel Syrian peace talkshttp://www.gloriacenter.org/index.asp?pname=submenus/articles/2008/spyer/5_30.asp
5. David Brooks on the reality of the Iran problem facing the next President. Though trashing George Bush is a certain applause line for Barack Obam, . Brooks thinks the Iranian nuclear program is where it is today for any number of reasons, including the weakness of our allies, and the failure of multinational organizations. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/30/opinion/30brooks.html?hp
9. Some good news from Israel: The Olmert government may be near collapse. Ehud Barak and Tzipi Livni are both calling for Olmert to step down. More good news; the right and religious parties would win about 70 seats if elections were held today (more than half of the Knesset), and Likud would win the most at 35. Barack Obama told a Jewish group in Cleveland that being pro-Israel does not mean being pro-Likud. So can he work with an elected Israeli government he has already undercut? Who needs to meet with Israel anyway, when there are so many foreign thugs you already have committed to spending time with- North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, Syria. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1212041431093&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFullhttp://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/126348#replies
