J street anti Israel

J Street, the pro-peace, pro-Palestinian lobbying group, is having a conf=
erence this October that will feature a wide range of speakers -- from Sa=
lam Al-Marayati, the executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Coun=
cil to Bernard Avishai, author of The Tragedy of Zionism and The Hebrew R=
epublic and Eli Pariser the former director of MoveOn.org. It's going to =
be super "pro-Israel," I'm sure. But the appearance of Salam Al-Marayati =
ought to raise a few eyebrows. Not only is he an apologist for Palestinia=
n terrorism, but he pointed the finger at Israel for the murder of 3,000 =
Americans on 9/11 just hours after the Twin Towers fell. His quote, as it=
was reported in the New York Times:

''If we're going to look at suspects, we should look to the groups that b=
enefit the most from these kinds of incidents, and I think we should put =
the state of Israel on the suspect list because I think this diverts atte=
ntion from what's happening in the Palestinian territories so that they c=
an go on with their aggression and occupation and apartheid policies.''

You can read more egregious comments from Al-Marayati here, courtesy of t=
he ZOA. Looking down the list of speakers, I'm pleased to note that J Str=
eet failed to secure a single Republican for their conference. A few Demo=
cratic reps will speak, including the anti-Israel Donna Edwards, "His Roy=
al Highness Prince Zeid Ra'ad Zeid Al-Hussein," know to most Americans as=
the Jordanian Ambassador, and Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of the Natio=
n. But not one single Republican. And compare this to the broad bipartisa=
n showing at AIPAC events. There's a reason AIPAC gets members of both pa=
rties to attend their conferences: 1) they don't invite speakers who blam=
e Israel or America for 9/11; and 2) AIPAC is actually pro-Israel.
It's interesting to note that no Republican was invited... probably becau=
se these speakers find greater support among Democrats and "Friends of Ob=
ama". These speakers would be better placed in a Muslim Wannsee Conferenc=
e, rather than at a conference where Jews try to give the false impressio=
n that they give a damn about Israel.
I feel compelled to call the host of this radio show next week and tell h=
im that I was dead wrong. J-Street has partnered with Israel haters who w=
ant no less than a new "final solution" to exterminate Zion and Zionists.=
I wanted to give fellow Jews the benefit of the doubt and respect their =
perspective even if I disagree with them. After rethinking what I said, I=
now realize that if we don't recognize the true evil in a so called Jewi=
sh organization that gives a platform for the worst kind of Jew haters, w=
e will be in deep trouble. Then again, we are already in deep trouble bec=
ause it's clear that the J-Street types have President Obama's ear - and =
Obama seems to be immune to the message of AIPAC and the importance of ke=
eping a strategic alliance with the Jewish State.
God save us from the self hating Jewish anti-Zionists! This J-Street conf=
erence looks like Durban III in the making.

Just because someone calls themselves “pro-Israel” doesn’t necessarily make it so.

In the end, J Street is a great “hope and change” alternative to real Israel lobbying. Hope for terrorists and change that reduces the support for the only real democracy in the Middle East.
